Statue of Kinjiro Ninomiya and Children at Kyobashi Tsukiji Elementary School

[Yurikamome] May 6, 2011 09:00

Kyobashi Tsukiji Elementary School is located diagonally opposite Tsukiji Honganji across Shin-ohashi-dori St.

Kyobashi Elementary School and Tsukiji Elementary School merged on April 1, 1992 to form Kyobashi Tsukiji Elementary School.

I was attracted to the statue of a child at the front entrance and the statue of Kinjiro Ninomiya, and remembered the past.

Statue of Kinjiro Ninomiya (1787-1856)

Before the war, it seemed that he was encouraged to build a statue of Kinjiro Ninomiya for education because he was born as a child of a peasant at the end of the Edo period and worked hard in poverty to study and became a worthy person .

Those statues escaped the war and still remain ...

At the time of the bubble, the word "poor ..." was forgotten, and the statue of Kinjiro Ninomiya may have been removed, but I think there are places to prepare for a new one now.

The kindergarten I attended also entered the main gate, climbed the slope of the row of cherry blossom trees, and there was a statue of Kinjiro Ninomiya where the next gate was located.

On the left side of the main gate, there was a statue of Kinjiro Ninomiya.
