Do you know the sculptures of whale fountains and ripples in Ningyocho?

[Mumin] June 23, 2011 09:00

The stone sculpture of sculptor Koji Nakata, introduced on NHK TV's Sunday Museum, is installed at the corner of the building in front of Uokyu Main Store in Ningyocho 1-chome.

It's a three-piece set of whales and two ripples. If you look at it, you will feel happy with art.

Nakata was born on Awaji Island in 1954 and has worked on many monuments and mural reliefs centered on stone sculptures, and has demonstrated his talent and skills in collaborative work with public spaces.

But he died of illness in July 2008.
