Chuo-ku NewDiscover!　Every year, a town walk tour organized by the popular tourist association has begun. This fiscal yearChuo-kuIn conjunction with the 60th anniversary of the Federation of Shopping Streets, it is divided into an “industrial course” that visits long-established stores and a “cultural course” that covers history and culture, and attractive courses are being prepared and applications are being accepted.

 

The first cultural course, a pioneer of this year's tour, was held on July 2nd (Sat). This is a course that walks through Nihonbashi depicted in Hiroshige Utagawa's masterpiece "Hundred Famous Views of Edo", and 12 participants gathered at Otohime's Square. Those who have been elected from a large number of applicants, including residents of the ward as well as participants from nearby prefectures.

 

At 1:30 pm, we leave here at Nihonbashi Fish Bank Ruins (pictured). In the Hundred Views, it is the neighborhood depicted in "Nihonbashi Yukiharu". Hundred views "Nihonbashi Edobashi" also depict the scenery east from this area. Cross Nihonbashi, which celebrated the 100th anniversary of the bridge, and head around Edobashi. "Shirakiya Meisui Ruins" is the area where the Shirakiya kimono shop used to be. The choledo Nihonbashi on Chuo-dori can be compared with the 100 views "Nihonbashi-dori 1-chome map".

 

If you go west along the former West Bank Street, you will hit Sotobori-dori St. To the north, there is Ichiishi Bridge over the Nihonbashi River. Hundred Views "Yatsumi no Hashi" is a view from here. Eight bridges including Zenbe Bridge and Dosan Bridge to the west, Gofuku Bridge and Kaji Bridge to the south, Nihonbashi / Edobashi to the east, Tokiwa Bridge to the north, and this Ichiishi Bridge to the north.
