The charm of Chuo-ku: "Sumida River and the Seine" ... ≪Introduction≫

[Tom downtown] September 15, 2011 11:30

Until now, I have introduced some of my favorite spots in Chuo-ku, but in order to further promote international appeal, I would like to explore the depth while comparing the scenery of Paris, France.

For a long time, I have thought that Chuo-ku should be confident and proud as a base for Japanese urban culture that should be comparable to international cities around the world. I think you actually have that much content and ability. In other words, I want to be a good rival to central towns such as London, Paris and New York.

Above all, Paris has a sister city tie-up with Tokyo in 1982 (Showa 57), and the country has just celebrated the 150th anniversary of Japan-France Exchange three years ago. And the best is the connection between the Sumida River-Seine Friendship River, which was affiliated in 1989 (Heisei).

In a corner of Tsukuda Park, there is a wooden mark indicating "Sumida River and Seine Friendship River Memorial Tree Planting".

In addition, there is a [Paris Square] in Ishikawajima Park, which is a spot where you can feel international goodwill.

At this time, a donation from the then President of France Jack Sirak was a [messenger statue] standing in the central part of Chuo-ohashi Bridge.

Seine is also a "signboard player" who supports the world's best international tourist city, Paris.

I would like to touch the charm while comparing the scenery of these two friendly rivers, which pass through Paris and Tokyo, which are familiar to both residents and tourists, through each center. We would appreciate it if you could meet us.
