One weeping cherry tree is in full bloom on the grounds of Kiyomizu Kannon-do Temple in Ueno, a famous cherry blossom viewing spot. There is a stone monument and a magnificent stone monument beside the stone lantern (upper left photo). The phrase was written in Genroku, a 13-year-old girl named "Oaki" in Nihonbashikoamicho. From the haiku, this cherry tree is called "Autumn Sakura".
The following phrases are engraved on the monument, and I would like to introduce them with the Taito Ward explanation board.
The cherry blossoms in the well-bata are drunk.
Autumn, the daughter of a confectionery shop in Nihonbashikoamicho, wrote the scene of a well-end crowded with cherry blossom visitors during Genroku. Rinnoji-gu praised this phrase tied to a cherry blossom branch, and it became a great reputation throughout Edo.
In autumn, he became the subordinate of Kikaku Takarai at the age of nine, and his haiku was called Kikugotei Akiiro. It is said that he was 13 years old at that time. Since then, this cherry tree has been called "Autumn Cherry Blossoms".
After the death of the corner, it is a unique seal that the dotted person of haikai pushes for the score of the phrase. "Kojien" was so talented that he could take care of it. It is said that he died in 1725 (1725).
The monument was built in October 1940 (1940) by the owner of Chouguiso. The current cherry blossoms were planted in 1978 (1978) and are imagined to be the ninth generation.
A well edge (upper right in the photo) is made beside the stone monument, and the autumn cherry tree is marked with a "Yaebenishidare" sign.
The corner is from Edo. Under the Matsuo Basho Gate, the Shofu school of Edo and one of "Shomon Jutetsu". The monument (lower right in the photo) is located on the Eitai-dori St. in Nihonbashikayabacho. Koamicho, where autumn lived, was on the north side of the Nihonbashi River, probably close to the corner house.
There is a Japanese confectionery shop "Akiiroan Osakaya" in Mita, Minato-ku, and the shop's website has its origins here. ●Akira Makibuchi
