R0020774LS.JPGR0020788RSG.JPG From March 27th to April 7th, Ginza's tradition "Sakura" is on display at Mikimoto Garden Plaza in front of Ginza Mikimoto Main Store.

An annual project that has been implemented since 1996.

This year marks the 120th anniversary of the invention of pearls, two rooted cherry trees, Oshima Sakura (white) with a height of about 6m and Gotemba Sakura (light red) with a height of about 4m, produce spring.

Gotemba cherry blossoms are seen in Gotemba City, Susono City, Fuji City, etc., and are considered to be a hybrid of Mamezakura and other species.

Although it is a small tree, it is multi-flowered, the flower diameter is medium, the outer edge of the petals remains dark red, and is characterized by fine cuts.

It is said that it is relatively easy to grow by cutting and is suitable for cultivation in pots and small gardens.

It is said that after the exhibition, it will be donated to public facilities and planted.

This year, one is near Tokyo and one is expected to recover and restore the affected areas of Great East Japan Earthquake as soon as possible, targeting Fukushima, Miyagi and Iwate prefectures.
