The chapel of St. Luke

[Apricot peony] July 3, 2013 09:00

When asked, "Where is St. Luke Hospital near Tsukiji Station?", "If you go straight along this road, there is a building with a tower of the cross, that's the old building.
The reception for outpatients and visits will be at the new building next to it. "

In the meantime, when talking about St. Luke International Hospital, a landmark of Akashicho, this chapel is the first thing that is remembered for local people.
To be precise, it is called "St. Luke Chapel of St. Luke International Hospital", and it is said that it also plays a role as a church of the Tokyo Diocese of the Nippon Church.

The front yard of the building and the adjacent Tsukiji River Park are not very large, but in spring the rows of cherry blossom trees are stunning, and now in gardenia, the flowers are in full bloom every season and the grassy smells after the rain, so you can say it's quiet.
It's hard to believe that there is a fish market that is crowded with tourists right next to it.

From the Tower of the Cross, the melody of the choir resounds every day at 8:30, 12:00 and 18:00 with the beautiful sound of the Carillon chime (bell instrument).
The songs played change from season to season, and until the other day it was "Amazing Grace", but at Christmas time it becomes "Morobito Kosorite".

And what's amazing is the illuminated night figure!
Not only from the front of the building, but also from the veranda at home, the light of the skyscraper in the background seems to have studded gemstones.

It is often said that "I live in a good place and I am enviable", but I realize that word when I am watching such a scenery.
