2013 "Town Walking" Tour Long-established Course②

[Sam] September 4, 2013 11:00

DSC00034LS.JPGR0021293RSG.JPG Today (September 2) is the second of the 2013 “Town Walking” tour <Industrial Course> Long-established Course 2 around long-established and historic sites.

Although it was not a hot day, the sun shining slowly at a maximum temperature of 33 ° C is dazzling on this day.

At 10:00 am on time, the participants selected by lottery will gather in front of "Ninben" on the 1st floor of Chored Muromachi.

A small tour of the three long-established stores "Ninben", "Eitaro Sohonpo", and "Yamamotoyama", which were founded in the Edo period, started a small tour of about 2 hours to listen to the history of the shop and the story behind the products.

First store: "Ninben,"

The first founder of Ise, Ihei Takatsu, named the store's name "Iseya Ibei", took the Iseya and Ibei's i (Ninben) on the Japanese shop curtain seal, and made money (the shape of a key) to solidify business. The townspeople of Edo came to be called "Kane Ninben". In the past, there was a store in the company building behind the scenes, but when "Cored Muromachi" was created, the store opened. It is said that the headquarters building is currently being rebuilt, but we are planning a restaurant there. It is said that Japan's first gift certificate (silver thin plate dressed in bonito) was issued, and its replica is on display in the store.

Second store: "Eitaro Sohonpo"

It was the first time that Yasubee Hosoda, the third generation, folded a confectionery stall called Izutsuya until his father's generation, opened an independent store, and later changed the name to Eitaro due to his childhood name, `` Arihei Sugar '', `` Umeboshi candy '', `` Amana sugar '', `` Tamadare '', etc. were created and inherited from generation to generation. Next, in addition to the explanations of "Noren", "Akatamaishi", "Gokage paving stone", "Brass joint", and "Japanese confectionery shop Eitaro main store factory sketch" that are left in the store, representative products are introduced. In addition, "Takadono" and "Tamadare" (however, Tuesday Thursday only) and "Amana sugar" are handled only at the head office.

3rd store: Mr. Yamamoto, Mr.

It is said that the first Kahei Yamamoto opened an Edo store and sold tea and paper. The name Yamamotoyama is derived from the product name of Uji Sencha, which was released in the Edo period and was popular, and when it was reorganized into a corporate organization in 1941, it was officially adopted as the company name.

The sale of seaweed began in 1947. In addition, I heard that the famous phrase "Yamamotoyama even if you read from the top, Yamamotoyama even if you read from below" has been decided by the current chairman.

Inside the store, there is a signboard of Taro Okamoto's grandfather and calligrapher Katei Okamoto.

Before noon, the small tour ended safely.

Thank you very much for your participation.

Thank you to everyone in charge of each store, while you were busy, valuable stories.
