Hamarikyu Garden A hawk dances in the New Year's sky! Suwa-style hawk

[Silver] January 8, 2014 09:00

On the morning of January 2, at the Hamarikyu Garden, the annual Suwa style hawk was performed. I hear that this is the 20th time this year.

First of all, we will deliver the greetings of the practitioners who perform the art and the sight of the practitioner who manipulates the hawk that hides the nails.

According to the materials we received, "What is Suwa-style hawk art?

There were two groups of falconers belonging to the Edo period Shogun family, calling themselves "Yoshida-ryu" and "Suwa-ryu".

"The etymology of Suwa style was held at Shinshu Suwa Taisha Shrine.

It is derived from Shinto ritual, which offers the birds caught by the hawk to God."

That's right. The details of the demonstration are:

①"Setting up" ... To stop the hawk stably on a horizontal fist.

②"Transfer": Jump the hawk from the falconer's fist to another falconer's fist and get used to others.

③"Watering": Call the hawk on the tree back to the fist.

④"Replacement" ... To stop the hawk by a fist of a person other than a hawk.

This year, three of the many tourists and spectators who wished to experience (one of whom is from Osaka) were challenged.

By the way, it is a scene where the hawk released from the Dentsu Building, which has finally been waiting for, descends directly aiming for the hawk master's "spring pigeon" waiting in the garden.

On the roof of the Dentsu Building, the wind is strong, and there are six or eight dragonflies flying in the garden, making it very difficult to demonstrate.

After about 20 minutes, the hawk was released, but flew high with the hostile dragonfly.

I was thrilled just to enjoy the New Year's mood. This year, I felt that the number of foreign customers and bus tour customers in nearby prefectures is increasing.

When I read "Hawk Swallowing in Heaven-The World of Hawkers" in the flyer I received, I found it

"Nukumedori" means that on a cold winter night, a hawk catches and grabs a small bird, and a hawk warms his feet all night.

The next morning the hawk releases the little bird.

But the hawk says he will never go hunting that day in the direction where the bird flew away. ・・・

In the world of animals, there is a story that feels good. Yeah,

A documentary film introducing the world of falconers will be screened at the Hibiya Convention Hall on April 10th. For more information, click here.
