Calligraphy Exhibition [Gallery Ginza]

[Dimini ☆ Cricket] April 16, 2014 14:00

papie1.JPG

At the gallery "Gallery Ginza" in Ginza 2-chome, "Cligraphy Keiko Matsuda Works Exhibition" is being held from April 15th (Tuesday), I visited the gallery on the evening of the first day of the event.

The moment I entered, I was wrapped in a gentle pastel-colored atmosphere.

papie2.JPG

"calligraphy" means "beautiful writing" in Greek, and it is said that Western Japanese calligraphy, which expresses the letters of the alphabet beautifully by hand.

papie3.JPG

The work of Keiko Matsuda, president of the Western Handwriting Studio, is so elaborate that I can't think of it as handwriting, while on the other hand, I can feel the warmth of handwriting.

The contents of the written text are the words of the Bible, excerpts of the works of famous writers, can be appreciated as paintings, and you can enjoy the words slowly (under the work, Japanese translation is attached).

papie4.JPG

The color of the characters differs for each work, and when I asked, itArt was written with watercolor paint instead of ink, or the balance between the picture and the text is exquisite.

There are many typefaces, and if the typeface is different, the atmosphere will change.

papie5.jpg

The exhibition period is until the 20th (Sun), from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm (last day, 5:00 pm).

The season has improved Please go to Ginza to taste the elegant Western Japanese calligraphy world.

*In addition, with your consent, we took a picture of the venue. Thank you very much.

Sumida River Spring feature "Waseda-Keio Regatta"

[Tachibana] April 16, 2014 09:00

On April 13th (Sun), the 83rd Waseda-Keio Regatta was held on the Sumida River under a spring-like weather.

Waseda-Keio Regatta has a history of more than 100 years and is said to be one of the world's three largest regattas, along with Oxford vs. Cambridge and Harvard vs. Yale.

Since the first Waseda-Keio Regatta was held in Mukaijima, Sumida River in 1905, it has been suspended twice due to war and other events.
In addition, after the Sumida River contamination and the change of the venue due to bridge construction, from the 47th convention in 1978.
It is held back to the Sumida River.

Until two years ago, the starting point was the upstream of Ryogoku Bridge, but since last year the starting point was changed to the upstream of Shinohashi (the race distance also increased from 3,000m to 3,750m), Chuo-ku was also involved. Thing.

The tournament itself has been held since the morning, but only two races, the second Eight and the opponent Eight, will start from the upper part of Shinohashi (around Hamacho Park).

The second eight started at 14:00, but no matter what time you wait, it doesn't start. Apparently, on the way to row the boat from the upstream of the Sumida River to the starting point, one boat seems to have overturned.

r6.jpg

This is a boat of Keio University, but it is so long and narrow. That means that it is weak and easily overturns to the waves from the side of the water bus or motorboat. After all, the second eight will be held again on another day.

The opponent's eight started at 15:30 on time.

As expected, the game has a long history. Before the start, there was an exchange of school songs, cheering songs and ale depending on the cheering groups of both schools and cheer.

r1.jpgr2.jpg

It's just before the start time. In order to keep the boats from both schools at the correct starting point, a person on another boat is firmly grabbing behind the boat. It takes a lot of power and it's hard.

r3.jpg
It's a start.

r4.jpg

And he passed by in front of him. It's beautiful to see with the movement of the eight rowers.

r5.jpg

In today's result, Keio University won the opponent, but I felt the spirit of both schools that exceeded the victory or defeat.

In the past, it seems that there were events unique to Waseda-Keio Regatta, with a sense of competition, such as the sinking of the Keio boat in a race held in a stormy condition, and that there was an unusual companion in boat race.

I'm 100 years old! (Lion statue of a lion in Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi)

[Grandpa] April 15, 2014 14:00

The Nihonbashi area is bustling with the opening of Coredo Muromachi 2-3.

The Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi Main Store is located across Chuo-dori from Choredo Muromachi.

The building of this main building is said to be celebrating its 100th anniversary this year.

Open in March of this year (2014) with Koledo Muromachi of Hoyahoya.

Mitsukoshi, who was completed 100 years ago (1914), is facing each other in the same place.

That's a good thing.

And speaking of Mitsukoshi, that's right a lion statue.

At the front entrance of Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi Main Store, two lions will welcome us at any time.

And the lions are also 100 years old this year.

※The Lion's hands were handshake with everyone.

On this day, we celebrated the Lions' 100 years old.

A lion in costume and even a golden lion statue appeared.

The event was held grandly.

Congratulations to the Lions!

I look forward to seeing you!

◆Spring Chuo-ku History Walk 2014 "Walking Edo Maejima"-Part 1st Ginza / Former Kibikicho Edition-

[Akira Makibuchi / Sharakusai] April 15, 2014 09:00

The first part of the Spring Chuo-ku History Walk 2014 "Walking Edo Maejima" was held on April 12 (Saturday). This historical walk was designed to follow the early Edo-era terrain called "Edo Maejima", which is the prototype of Chuo-ku, and to visit historic sites around the surrounding area. Everyone who applied in the ward bulletin "News of the Ward" participated. Click here.>>

On the first day, about 50 participants gathered and departed at Sukiyabashi Park (Yasuaki Elementary School side), where sprout began to fall under good weather. This area was once the outer moat was located, and to the west it is close to Hibiya Inlet. The road that walks south along the JR elevated line is thought to be the western edge of Edo Maejima. The area near the site of Tsuchihashi near Shimbashi was the intersection of Horiwari. To the west, the outer moat flowed toward the tiger gate and Tameike, and to the east the Shiodome River. If you go east across Chuo-dori, you will find the ruins of Sanjumabori. The area near the ruins of Horai Bridge is probably around the southern edge of Maejima.

When you go north on Showa-dori, you will see the "Morita-za Ruins" explanation board in the former Kibiki-cho. It is the ruins of a play town in the early Edo period. While watching Kabukiza (pictured), it is said that the area that crossed the Tsukiji River ruins (currently Tokyo Metropolitan Expressway) east through the Meiji Kaido ruins is near the eastern edge of Maejima. The two-hour historical walk in front of the Chuo-ku government office at the dissolution site has ended.

In this historical walk, you can still experience the urban formation and town development of Edo that makes use of the terrain of the sandbar called "Edo Maejima". Walking in comparison with the Geographical Survey Institute's "Land Condition Map" will deepen your understanding. @ Akira Makibuchi

◇The second part of the second part will be held on Sunday, April 20 on a course from the ward office to Edobashi along Kaedegawa River (application deadline has been completed).

Goro Mitsu, who returned to Japan-Phoenix Festival April Daikabuki-Kabukiza Shinkai Hall 1st Anniversary

1. April 13, 2014 09:00

Kabukiza, which has been one year since its new opening, is still bustling. The topic of this month is "Goro Mitsu's Return". I came back to the Kabukiza Theater seven months after I fell ill. It's been since August Noryo Kabuki. The performance is "Senju Saru". When Goro Mitsu appears on the flower path, great applause from the crowded seats. When I heard this great applause with Goro Mitsu, who became a little thinner, I was surprised. The next seat is also taking out the handkerchief. The cuteness of the monkey played by the son, Minosuke, who became even more splendid, Magoro, the female daimyo, and the child role that applauds each time he moves. I'm really happy to be able to see the sharp and cheerful appearance of Goro Mitsu, one of the best dancers in the Kabuki world, who can not seem to be post-sick. This month, I took care of it only in the daytime and took a rest for a while. The other performances are a gorgeous dance newly created to commemorate the first anniversary of the opening of the festival, "Shushun Phoenix Festival", and the stage art is a luxurious version called Toshio Matsuo. Finally, "Shinnaka Sonezaki" where Tojuro Sakata works for "Ichisei Ichidai". I am deeply moved to think that this is the last time to see Fujijuro's first performance more than 1300 times on stage. Even so, what is the youth of 82-year-old Fujijuro? ・・・・

100_1378.JPGShochiku started running Kabukiza in 1914 (1914), when it became the second Kabukiza Theater. The idea of the Phoenix Maru of the Zamon was Ouchi Fukuchi, the first lord of the first stage, but when he built a new mansion in Ikenohata, he liked the Phoenix Maru related to Horyuji Temple, which was used as a nail hide in the parlor ("Kabukiza 5th generation}").

The night part is "Ichijo Daizotan", "Women Date" and "Hairyu Shinzo".

It was also announced that Nizaemon's return to June. All you have to do is wait for the recovery of Fukusuke, whose name has been extended.

April Kabuki until the 26th

From Nihonbashi to Tokaido Ginza on Saturdays and Sundays is a pedestrian paradise

[Silver] April 12, 2014 17:00

Today, let's enjoy walking along the Tokaido from Nihonbashi.

Oh, before that, did you buy a souvenir in Nihonbashi?

Have you seen the Bank of Japan, the Currency Museum, and the Heidai Shoran?

Did you enjoy your meal at a famous restaurant?

Then, from Nihonbashi, the starting point of Gokaido, let's head to Shinagawa-juku through Kyobashi and Ginza.

The Tokaido is also called Ginza-dori between Chuo-dori and Kyobashi and Shimbashi while it is in Chuo-ku.

As I was talking like this, I've already come to Cored Nihonbashi.

Choledo is a coined word, and it is said that "Core of Edo", which means "center of Tokyo", was shortened to be called Coredo.

It would be nice if we had time to stop by Mr. Yamamotoyama, a long-established store that discovered Gyokuro, and Mr. Takashimaya, who was designated as an important cultural property for the first time as a department store.

In the middle of Yaesu Street, there is a "bell of peace" commemorating the declaration of peace by Chuo-ku.

http://www.city.chuo.lg.jp/heiwa/monument/kane/index.html

This bell was made in the Netherlands, and in the foreground I boarded the Dutch ship Leafde.

It is also interesting that there is a monument to Jan Jooss Ten, who drifted ashore in Bungo with British William Adams.

Jan Jooss Ten received the trust of Ieyasu Tokugawa as a consultant in trade, diplomacy, defense, etc.

He lived near Edo Castle, and the land was called Yatsushiro Sukawagi. I omit the explanation of the change of place name and place, but the place name "Yaesu" is derived from him.

By the way, we pass through Tokyo Square Garden in front of Kyobashi Senbikiya, which is famous not only for gifts but also for fruit buffets.

On the right hand side of the Metropolitan Expressway, there is a monument to the birthplace of Edo Kabuki, the monument of Kyobashi Daikon Riverside.

Let's go around the police museum and the Kyobashi police box. All of them, such as the "Brick Ginza Monument" built by the great fire of the Meiji era, are guide monuments that give you a sense of history from the Edo era.

Let's compare the stone pillars of Kyobashi in the Taisho era with the Kyobashi police box. I admire the aesthetic sense of the person who designed the police box. Oh, the gas lamps are also lit.

20140407 011.JPG

Soon after, there is a shop for Mr. Tanizawa of the bag. It is said that the kanji called bag, actually, was devised by this predecessor.

It is so famous that the word bag caught in Emperor Meiji's eyes and asked a question.

By the way, in Chinese, it seems that the bag is written as "wrapping".

In Ginza 2-chome, reading the monument of the birthplace of Ginza, the origin of Ginza is interesting.

http://www.chuo-kanko.or.jp/guide/spot/ginza/ginza_05.html

While exploring the shops introduced in the story for the first time in Chuo-ku, enjoy the Tokaido slowly with the feeling of walking around the city. On Saturdays and Sundays, please enjoy the pedestrian paradise of Ginza, which starts at noon.

Ginza 8-chome, I've already come to Brazil coffee cafe Paulista. Would you like to have a delicious coffee here and get a "Silver Bra Certificate"?

What's missing? There are a lot of popular songs that sang Ginza. If you want to see the "Silver Koi Monument" and sing, go to the planting of Ginza Ins opposite Ginza Church. The lovely memories of love will be revived.

Then, please enjoy Shinagawa-juku and the 52nd after that. Boa viagem !
