May, changing Chuo-dori (Ginza-Nihonbashi)

■Construction has begun in various places along Chuo-dori. While walking along the street, I checked the changing Chuo-dori street.

The number of floors and completion schedules of the building are based on the “Notice of Building Plan” or “Notice of Demolition Work” posted on the site.

 

(1) Ginza 6-chome 10 District Type 1 Urban Redevelopment Project [Matsuzakaya Ginza Store Site, etc.]

  ①13 floors above ground (height 66m), 6 floors below ground. Completion is scheduled to be completed on November 30, 2016.

  ②One of the largest commercial facilities in the Ginza area. The Kanze Noh Theater is also located.

(2) Demolition of Sapporo Ginza Building, Five Ginza Building, Tsuzureya Ginza Store [Rebuilding at Ginza 4-chome intersection corner] 

 

  ①Beer Hall Lion Ginza 5-chome store, Nissan Ginza Gallery Tsuzureya are scheduled to resume business after the new building is completed.

(3) Demolition of the existing building of the Okura Main Building [Rebuilding at the corner of Ginza 2-chome intersection]

(4) Itoya Main Store Rebuilding Plan [Ginza 2-chome]

  ①13 floors above ground (height 66m), 2 floors below ground. It is scheduled to be completed on March 15, 2015.

  ②In addition to merchandise stores, there will be a restaurant and a conference room on the upper floor, and a multipurpose hall in the basement.

(5) New construction of block A of Ginza 1-chome 

  ①12 floors above ground (height 66m), 3 floors below ground. Scheduled to be completed on May 31, 2014.

  ②The name of the commercial facility is "Kirarito GINZA".

(6-1) Kyobashi 2-chome West District Type 1 Urban Redevelopment Project Facility Building (Redevelopment Building)

  ①32 floors above ground (height 170.25m), 3 floors below ground. Completion is scheduled to be completed on August 31, 2016.  

(6-2) Kyobashi 2-chome West District Type 1 Urban Redevelopment Project Facility Building (Historic Building) Renovation work [Meijiya Kyobashi Building Seismic isolation

    Construction work  

  ①8 floors above ground (30.32m high) and 2 floors below ground. It is scheduled to be completed on July 31, 2015.

  ②The Meijiya Kyobashi store reopened after the seismic isolation work is completed.

(6-3) The Kyobashi Trust Tower, an office building located next to the Nihonbashi side of the redevelopment project area, is completed this year. Courtyard by Marriott 

     Tokyo Station Hotel is also located.

(7) N Project [Nihonbashi 3-chome]

  ①12 floors above ground, 2 floors of tower (68m high), 4 floors below ground. It is scheduled to be completed at the end of April 2015.

  ②Rebuilding of the headquarters building of DIC Corporation.

(8) Nihonbashi 2-chome District Type 1 Urban Redevelopment Project (Block C)

  ①31 floors above ground, 1 floor of tower building (180m high), 5 floors below ground. Scheduled to be completed in late December 2018.

  ②A complex super high-rise office building with Takashimaya on the lower floors. It will be connected to the neighboring Nihonbashi Takashimaya by an aerial corridor.

(9) New construction of Nihonbashi 2-chome North District [Nihonbashi Intersection Corner]

  ①35 floors above ground (height 180m), 4 floors below ground. Scheduled to be completed in late November 2017.

  ②Along with the development, connection with the subway Nihombashi Station and maintenance of station squares and tourist information centers will be planned.

(10) Nihonbashi 1-chome Project [Nihonbashi Intersection Corner]

  ①13 floors above ground (55.98m high) and 2 floors below ground. It is scheduled to be completed at the end of February 2015.

  ②An office building directly connected to Nihombashi Subway Station.

■I'm worried about the height of the surrounding buildings, but it's certain that the cityscape will be renewed in the last few years. If you have a place to remember, we recommend that you visit the site under construction.
