Visit the Sanno Festival Ginza

[Ryokichi] June 29, 2014 14:00

The Sanno Festival was held on the weekend of June in which "portable shrine, who entered Edo Castle during the Tokugawa period, was celebrated as a "Tenka Festival" where successive generals worshiped since the third shogun Iemitsu.

Kanda Myojin and Hie-jinja Shrine hold a grand festival every other year, and it is a festival where you can feel the remnants of Edo tradition that used to be honored to enter Edo Castle in the past.

It is the Shinko Festival that has an edge in Chuo-ku. It is an event in the festival that starts at Hie-jinja Shrine in Nagata-cho, Chiyoda-ku and goes around here and there. This is a so-called parade performed by Ujiko dressed in various costumes. On the way, we will pass through Nihonbashi's branch office and walk around Chuo-dori gorgeously from Nihonbashi to Ginza.

After that, I passed the guard from Corridor Street and left for the Imperial Hotel. I happened to see it on Chuo-dori while I was out, but after a little bit, I looked at the line around Corridor Street and then the Imperial Hotel. I was surprised that this procession was very long.

A procession that delivers the scent of the Edo period to the gorgeous Ginza. It's interesting as a combination.

The Olympics will come in 2020, and I suddenly came up with the idea that such an event in Ginza would be very effective and meaningful to introduce the traditions of Japan or Tokyo. Is there any actual event like this?

Regardless of this, the tradition of the festival will continue.
