The 37th Ginza Mikimoto Honten Garden Plaza "Mikimoto Jumbo Christmas Tree", which has been the 37th this year since 1976, will be on November 15th.
The lighting ceremony has been popular for many years as an event that signals the arrival of the Christmas season in Ginza.
Mikimoto Honten will be closed on January 15, next year (scheduled for grand opening in the spring of 2017) to rebuild the building, which has been 40 years since its completion in 1974. Will be the last exhibition.
The height of the fir tree used in the tree is about 10m and the age of the tree is about 30 to 40 years.
At the base of the tree is an object that resembles a pearl necklace, and archived images of successive Christmas trees and Mikimoto head office from Meiji period to the present day are shown.
The theme of the illuminations of "Mikimoto Jumbo Christmas Tree", which will be watched, is "connecting".
Through the tree that has been connected to the city of Ginza as a winter tradition on Ginza Street, we express the connection between "now and the future" and "heart and heart". The illumination uses approximately 6,500 multicolor LED lights with original specifications that can freely express various colors.
