In order to reconsider the splendor of Kyoto's traditional industries and contribute to the promotion of understanding of Japanese culture by spreading the custom of toasting with sake (sake), Kyoto City implemented the first "Cheers Ordinance" in 2013 (Ordinance on Promoting the Spread of Kyoto City Sake).

The KYO-MONO is COOL! Project supports the purpose of this ordinance and aims to excite the traditional industry of Kyoto with young people. The Kyoto Traditional Industry Youth Association and the Kyoto Ceramic Youth Association became the secretariat, and the Fushimi Sake Brewery Association and the Kyoto Sake Brewery Association were established last year.
