At Nihonbashi Takashimaya, from March 5th, an exhibition of art works dedicated to Mt. Koya-san since the Meiji era, entitled "The Beauty of Prayer at Mt. Koya-san commemorating the 1200th anniversary of its founding" has been held. I stopped by on my way home from work.

This year, 2015 marks the 1200th anniversary of Kobo Daishi Kukai opened a dojo in Esoteric Buddhism on Mt. Koya-san.

At the venue, works dedicated by famous artists such as Tashi Moriya, Tatsuo Takayama, Buzan Kimura, Tessai Tomioka, and Denchu Hirakushi were exhibited, and many works of art given by the Imperial Family were also exhibited.

This is the "Statue of Kobo Daishi" by Shotetsu Takaya. The real thing is very big.

In this exhibition, for the first time, 12 faces of paintings on sliding-door panel from okudono Kongomine-ji Temple, which was created by Chinami Nakajima of Japanese painting in 1200, were exhibited.

At the venue, four paintings on sliding-door panel sides were arranged to surround the viewer from three sides, and "invention to show" was made.

This is the "Sakurama shohekiga" (part).

The event will be held from Thursday, March 5 to 16 (Mon).

The venue is the 8th floor hall of Nihonbashi Takashimaya.

Admission time is from 10:00 am to 7:30 pm, but the last day is 5:30 pm

When I went out of Nihonbashi Takashimaya, headed north along Chuo-dori, crossed Nihonbashi, and came to the Mitsukoshi Main Store, and saw the cherry blossoms paintings on sliding-door panel, where the building was lit up with cherry blossoms.

I didn't expect anything at all, so I felt like I had gained something.

In this season when the cold began to calm down, the evening's sightseeing without purpose is also good.
