Kunimitsu Tayu Are [Mie Terrace] in Ise

[The Minnie Cricket] 09:00 on May 4, 2015

Antenna shops in many prefectures in Chuo Ward make good use of brand names already well known throughout the country and display products bearing the names of celebrities from the local area.

I found the product below at Mie Terrace, an information transmission center in Mie Prefecture, which is in YUITO ANNEX, Nihonbashi Muromachi 2-chome, and bought it.

"Matsusaka Beef Chips" and "Ise's Kunimitsu Tayu Are"

The former was a super-strong brand "Matsusaka Beef", but when I first saw it, it felt like "Who is Mitsutayu?" It is also called "Suzuka's specialty."

From the clothes of the person printed on the bag, I noticed that "Is Kodayu Daikokuya who went to Russia?" In the first place, "Was Kodayu Daikokuya from Mie Prefecture?"

Sorry, I was from Suzuka City, Mie Prefecture.

Kodayu Daikokuya was the captain of a round ship (carriage ship) based in the port of Shirako, Ise Province (now Suzuka City, Mie Prefecture) in the late Edo period.

In 1782, due to a storm, a round ship headed to Edo drifted and drifted to Amchitka Island in the Aleutian Islands (then Russian territory). Kotayu had an audience with Empress Ekacherina II in St. Petersburg, the imperial capital of the Russian Empire, and requested to return to Japan. Was.

At that time, Sadanobu Matsudaira, a senior citizen of the Shogunate, intended to negotiate with Russia using Kotayu, but Sadanobu himself fell, and was given a mansion in Edo, and Hoshu Katsuragawa (resident in Tsukiji) and Gentaku Otsuki interacted with Dutch scholars and contributed to the development of Dutch studies.

Kotayu was invited to a party to celebrate the Dutch New Year (Shingenkai) held by Gentaku Otsuki in 1795, and had a relationship with many intellectuals, including Hoshu Katsuragawa.

The picture below depicts the Shingenkai at Gentaku Otsuki's private school, Shibarando. (Shibarando Shingenkai-zu (part), Mt. Ichikawa)

It is said that the person in the red frame is Mitsutayu.

Shibarando was located in Mizutanicho, Kyobashi at this time, and Kotayu himself was also involved with Chuo-ku.

"Matsusaka Beef Chips" and "Kotayu Are" were delicious while thinking about what they were doing.
