Enjoy Tokyo in early summer from the Nihonbashi River

[Tom downtown] 14:00 on May 11, 2015

Tokyo is a city with many rivers. Among them, Chuo-ku has been an area supported by water transport since the Edo period, so it was reclaimed after the war and reduced, but there are still many rivers and canals.

There are several types of up and down cruises on the Sumida River, and it is crowded with many tourists. In the familiar places in Chuo-ku, there are boarding points at [Hamarikyu Gardens] and [Akashicho], and boats to Asakusa and Odaiba depart. Tourism that looks at the town from a different perspective than land is also interesting.

Of course, the cherry blossoms in spring and the clouds in autumn are wonderful, but this season of transitioning from fresh green to universal green is also good to see the greenery of the shore in Toma and be shaken by the boat.

Among the "water bus" operated by the Tokyo Metropolitan Park Association, the recommendation is "River Meguri Bridge Tour". It is a very enjoyable cruise that takes you on the small and adorable pleasure boat "common kingfisher" to depart from the base of Nihonbashi and see the rivers and famous bridges in the city. "Nihonbashi River / Kanda River Tour" is an interesting course where you can visit the old town of Edo and check its history and culture from the boat.

If you think that this waterway has supported the development of the town of Edo, you can feel the importance of it again.

Once you get up from the boat, you can stroll through the Nihonbashi area and enjoy another fun for gourmet and shopping before returning home.

The flight schedule is irregular, so please check carefully in advance and go out. Why don't you enjoy the scent of Kawa Blowin' in the Wind Edo during this refreshing season?
