Tsukuda-ohashi Bridge

[Blowing of Koi in Satsuki] 09:00 on May 24, 2015

Kachidokibashi, Tsukuda-ohashi Bridge, which is familiar to me, is a deep bridge for me
This time, I would like to talk about memories of Tsukuda-ohashi Bridge.

High-rise buildings in Tsukuda. When Tsukuda handed over, who could have imagined this?

This bridge was built in preparation for the 1964 Tokyo Olympics.
I still remember this time.
There was a little time from the completion of the bridge to the opening, and I was able to play here.
I ran down the slope by bicycle and enjoyed the thrill of its speed.

I ran down this slope by bicycle and played.

Certainly, the ceremony at the time of opening was grand and brass band
I think there was a parade.

Before the bridge was built, there was a crossing of Tsukuda, and now there is a monument at that place.
August 27, 1964, with a history of 300 years.
It seems that it was abolished due to the bridge over Tsukuda-ohashi Bridge.

The memory of crossing over to Tsukuda Island can be revived faintly.
Because he was a child, he had no use, and he was playing with it.
The fare should have been free.

As I mentioned last time, the river was dirty and smelled.
Now that it's clean, I'd like to take this ride to Tsukuda Island again.
