During flowering of Agapanthus [Tsukiji River Kameibashi Park]

[Dimini ☆ Cricket] July 10, 2015 14:00

Next to Tsukiji 1-chome, Kamei Bridge and Tsukiji Police Station, Tsukiji River Kamei Bridge Park, built on the Metropolitan Expressway, has a flower bed in the perennial plant called Pele Near Garden in the central square. In this flower bed, more than 70 species of perennial plant are planted and you can enjoy flowers throughout the year.

In this flower bed, Agapanthus is currently blooming with beautiful light blue-purple and white flowers.

Native to South Africa. It blooms just during the rainy season, and from early summer to late ones bloom until autumn.

Agapanthus consists of two words, Greek Agabe (love) and Anthus (flower), meaning "flower of love".

In addition, the Japanese name is said to be "Murasaki Kunshiran", but it seems that it is a plant of a different genus that has no connection to Kunshiran, and it seems to be a Japanese name given from its appearance characteristics.

Agapanthus, which stretches the flower stalks for a long time and blooms dozens of flowers radially at the tip, is bright and refreshing even under cloudy weather, but I would like to see its standing under the bright sun early.
