At the Chuo Ward Folk Tenmonkan (Time Dome Akashi), a special exhibition "Junichirou Tanizaki and Nihonbashi-Tracing the Roots of Bungo-" began on October 10 (Saturday). Born in Nihonbashikakigaracho, Tanizaki was a writer who wrote works such as "Hosoyuki", "Shunkinsho", and "Tanizaki translation The Tale of Genji". The exhibition is divided into two parts. The first part is "Junichirou Tanizaki and Nihonbashi", based on his memoir "Childhood" (published in 1955), he spent his time at Sakamoto Elementary School, Prefectural Ichinaka, Ichiko, Teidai and Nihonbashi neighborhoods from his birth. The scenes and scenes of the town are introduced with photographs and paintings along with sentences from childhood. At that time, magazines and manuscripts posted by Tanizaki are also on display.
The second part was the World of Literature, where after the Great Kanto Earthquake, he moved his base to Kansai and devoted his energy to his creation. Materials related to "Snow Snow" manuscripts and family photos are displayed in one hall. His favorite books and paintings by Junichiro New Transliteration The Tale of Genji (published in 1955), the culmination of his lifelong research, are also highlights. There are also valuable materials such as bindings and bindings by the printmaker Shiko Munakata who colored his later works.
