This year, entitled "Hikari Michi 2015-The Future Connected by Trees", Ginza Street added 100 trees to the existing 109 yew trees, and a total of 209 trees were added to "GINZA ILLUMINATION" original special champagne gold color About 130,000 LEDs in color will be gorgeously wrapped.
At Harumi-dori St., guardrails and streetlights are illuminated to create a Hikari Michi.
This is the fifth year of the “GINZA ILLUMINATION” project, which was started with the wish of the reconstruction of Tohoku.
We procured and installed 100 trees to be added this time from the Tohoku region. After the event, I heard that it will be processed into wood chips, donated to facilities and organizations in Chuo-ku and Tohoku, and used in workshops and parks.
In addition, as usual, during the illumination period, charity donation boxes for support for Tohoku reconstruction will be set up in supporting stores and stores that agree with the purpose, and the donations collected will be donated to the Japan Federation of UNESCO Associations.
209 shining trees of unprecedented size will color Ginza Street fantastically.
