◆ Tsukiji Market and Seasonal Lost Items

There is the Tsukiji Market Main Gate near the entrance of Tsukiji Market Station on the Oedo Line, but I think many people can enter the Tsukiji Market from this gate.

s_hanabi28-2.jpgAs you can see, this bulletin board may contain lost items unique to the market. "seasonal" drops in the market are often delivered.

I would like to introduce the lost items a little while "feeling the season" using the photos I took from around this spring.

 

First of all, "Wakka Ayu" appeared in June.

This fish makes you feel the arrival of early summer. It seems that there are many tempura shops in Tsukiji that serve sweetfish at this time.

s_hanabi28-3.jpgIn June, the ban on sweetfish fishing is lifted all over the country, and a fun season for fishermen begins.

I remember that Ayu wrote in the manga "Fishing Chi Mihira" that I read as a child that "watermelon" smells. It seems that the river is wrapped in the scent of "watermelon" in the ayu season. Is it true?

Ayu writes "ayu", but seems to be written as "scent fish".

 

The "watermelon" often appeared on this bulletin board.

Tsukiji Market has the image of "fish market", but "vegetable and vegetable market" is also within Tsukiji. In the early Showa era, the fish market moved from Nihonbashi to Tsukiji, but in the same way the fruit and vegetable market moved from Kyobashi to Tsukiji.

Next year, both markets in the hall will move to Toyosu.

 

 

"Blue Yuzu" appeared at the end of summer.

s_hanabi28-5.jpgYuzu has a winter image, but the harvest time is twice: "blue yuzu" in summer and "yellow yuzu" in late autumn. Blue yuzu seems to be an ingredient that can be enjoyed with a refreshing scent, such as yuzu pepper.

It was very hot at the beginning of this summer, but in the latter half of August, the cool days continued, and it was just autumn.

 

And "Matsutake mushrooms" appeared in September.

"Suppon" is now available.

The autumn taste "Sanma" also appeared properly.

The next "clams" seems to be seasonal in spring and autumn. Was it planned to become Tsukudani at a nearby Tsukudaniya? Or is Fukagawa Meshi?

"Ginnan" is an image of the coming of winter. At Tsukiji, it reminds me of the weeping ginkgo at Namishi Inari Shrine outside the venue.
