At LIXIL Gallery 2 at Kyobashi 3-chome, the 6th "Future of Creation" supervised by Ryohei Miyata "Living Things" Exhibition is being held.
The period is from Saturday, December 5 to Tuesday, February 23 of last year, but it is divided into "1st metal" and "2nd wood carving". Until January 12 (Tuesday), the "2nd term" will be from January 15 (Friday).
So, what I saw is the "first phase" metal.
[Description on LIXIL's website]
In the first phase (metal), Ryohei Miyata of the "Springen" series with the theme of dolphins, using the metal crafts technique of Sadogashima tradition in modern times, and the story of various characters is released by metal materials Tomomi Maruyama, who creates contemporary works with a sense of life, and the small life and environment of insects will be exhibited in a heavy and hard work of iron.
In the second phase (wood carving), Takashi Fukai, who creates a serene and thoughtful world with horses and feathers as motifs, and Nio Tsuchiya, who expresses cats, foxes, and phantom beasts in a supple and mysterious manner. We will exhibit works of dynamismous wolves with realistic expressions that are raised in a wave shape.
The sharpened sense of the top runner in modern three-dimensional modeling and the brilliance of life of "living things" that emerge with their outstanding skills will catch the viewer and keep them away.
In my impression, I was impressed that there were really various ways to use the same metal depending on the author or the work.
The material called metal was really used to express the texture and weight of the work surface.
You can take pictures at the venue.
