Congratulations to all of you.

Ginza Matsuya's opening exhibition in 2016 is a combination of obi and obidome, focusing on 60 popular coordinates selected from the Shigeko Ikeda collection.

100_1891.JPGShigeko Ikeda was well known as a kimono collector, but he died last October while looking forward to this exhibition. There are many magazines and books, so I think many people are familiar, but actually seeing it is also exceptional. "It seems that the collection was triggered by one obi, looking for kimonos and obis that match the obi, and if you notice it, the number will exceed 10,000 items" (from Matsuya's pamphlet).
The "Obidome" on display is amazing. Of course, there are many things that use gemstones, but are they the subject of obi retaining, such as insects, bats and centipedes, vegetables, eggplants and broad beans? There's something I think.
What kind of band and kimono did you coordinate with this obi? I feel like I was able to show the depths of the kimono world. Since it is the New Year, there are many Ikeda-san fans and kimono lovers, and the venue will be more noticeable with stylish kimonos. Recently, the number of young kimono fans is increasing, so I don't want to say "inheritance of Japanese culture", but Ikeda says, "I hope you can enjoy kimono as you like." As the words "If you say something strange, you should fix it at that time", it is an exhibition that I would definitely recommend as one of the people who hope that more people will enjoy kimonos will increase.
