From January 9th (Saturday), a collaboration art exhibition "The Birth" of ancient characters and ikebana has been held at the "Machikado Exhibition Hall" (Nihonbashi Kobunacho 4) operated by the long-established fan shop "Ibasen".
By the way, "Ibasen" was founded in 1590 (Tensho 18).
It seems that he also worked on publishing Ukiyo-e in the Edo period.
Ancient characters are hieroglyphic characters born for fortune-telling records in China 3,000 years ago, and are considered the roots of modern kanji.
In this exhibition, foil and Japanese lacquer were used on a folding screen with Japanese paper for fans, along with ancient characters meaning pine, and bamboo-based by young flower artist Naohiro Kasuya, who is active internationally, large ikebana works are on display.
Opening hours are from 8:00 to 20:00, admission is free.
It will be held until January 29th (Friday).
