[CAM] 20:00 on January 12, 2016

In the morning edition of the Nikkei Shimbun (January 9), an article on the idea of using the site of the Tsukiji Market was published on the idea of using the site of the Tsukiji Market, "The capital of making famous places in the water capital is planned, Tsukiji and large ships are also shored / Toyosu and promenade is maintained." Towards the 2020 Olympics, and beyond, especially the Tsukiji and Harumi areas are likely to change significantly.

In the above article, it is stated as follows.

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government will establish a hydrophilic base that tourists can use on the waterside of rivers and the sea. We plan to set up docks and terraces along the Sumida River in Tsukiji by 2024. The two countries will also establish new docks for small ships, which will promote the use of boat transportation. The aim is to disseminate the appeal of the city as a "water city" to the rapidly increasing number of foreign tourists visiting Japan.
The capital will dismantle the unloading pier along the Sumida River in Tsukiji Market, which will be relocated in November, and build a new dock. Assuming a terminal where large sightseeing boats can be used. The company plans to set up a terrace where cafes can be opened.
The capital regards the Tsukiji area as the gateway to the Sumida River. The plan is to focus on developing a boat route connecting tourist spots such as Tokyo Skytree (Sumida, Tokyo) with the coastal area, which is being developed for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
