"Bridge Tour"

The e-mail magazine of the Yukio Mishima Study Group has been transcribed (the e-mail magazine is free to transfer).

 

In Mishima's work, there are not so many things that Chuo-ku appears, but Tsukishima etc. will appear in "Happiness Go Deho".

 Set in Ginza and Tsukiji, the famous short story "Hashizukushi" (published in 1958), depicting the sadness of women who cross seven bridges on the full moon night on August 15 in the lunar calendar. (Received in Shincho Bunko "Hanazakari no Mori / Yukuni").
This time, we planned an event to walk around the six bridges that were the stage of this work, and to taste the stage of this work again.
At the start of the tour, Mr. Mishima and members of Tatenokai will have lunch at the Kappo cuisine "Suegen" in Shimbashi where the last dinner party was held.
After that, we plan to walk around the seven bridges (actually six) that appear in the work in order.
Finally, we plan to visit Kachidokibashi, which is also wonderful at the beginning of Kyoko's House, and visit Tsukiji Honganji, where Mr. Mishima's main funeral was held.
If you have time, we will also hold a social gathering in the neighborhood (actual cost).

Tsukiji River Park Spring Visit

 On March 10th, at Tsukiji River Park next to St. Luke's International University, "Cherry Flowers", which signal the coming of spring, are blooming.

This flower will entertain us until March 20.

After that, the Yoshino cherry tree in the same garden begins to bloom. The flowering is early this year, so it will begin to bloom around March 21.

From the same time to the beginning of April, "Hananoki" will tell you the coming of spring with red buds and small pretty flowers.

 

On the south side, cute white flowers of "Yukiyanagi" are beginning to bloom.

However, it seems that this shop and building will be closed temporarily on Wednesday, March 16 to rebuild the building.

Nagasaki Prefecture Antenna Shop Nihonbashi Nagasakikan

Nihonbashi Nagasakikan, an antenna shop in Nagasaki Prefecture, opened on Monday, March 7 on the first floor of "Urban Net Nihonbashi 2-chome Building" along Eitai-dori St.

In recent years, we have seen many antenna shops in Chuo-ku, but "Tokyo Class A Gourmet Vol.1 (2016 January)" "According to the fact that there are 47 antenna shops nationwide from Nihonbashi to Ginza to Tsukiji areas. This is the first time that Nagasaki Prefecture has opened an antenna shop, and it conveys the appeal of Nagasaki, not only the standard products of Nagasaki Prefecture. As you know, bonito flakes are Japanese food that uses mold, but it seems that the purpose differs in Osaka and Edo in the first place.
For the purpose of preventing mold of Osaka malignant mold, molding was performed only once. --> Squirrel
I added mold several times for the purpose of making Edo delicious and good quality.
The difference in the purpose of molding influenced the culture of taste in the east and west.

We were struggling to deal with mold generated when transporting bonito from the main bonito areas of bonito, Tosa and Satsuma.
In the meantime, he came up with a method to prevent malignant mold by producing excellent mold on the surface.
The bonito flakes gathered in Osaka were transported by boat to Edo, but it took about a month depending on the weather.
There was still a lot of water and mold during transportation. In addition, each time mold occurs during storage in Edo period.
The Edo wholesaler noticed that the bonito flakes became good during this repetition.

By saying, it is exactly the same as "to control poison with poison."

"Nature Magazine of Herbals" Exhibition [LIXIL Gallery]

At the LIXIL Gallery in Kyobashi 3-chome, the exhibition "History of Herbals-Morino Former Yakuen and Plants of Edo-" is being held.

Herbs, mainly herbs, came from China and flourished during the Edo period, and it was said that it developed into natural science toward modern times.

Morino Former Yakuen is the oldest private physic garden in Japan.

In this exhibition, we will introduce Morino's former Yakuen, as well as about 90 actual materials about the changes in the main plant charts drawn from the early to late Edo period and the transition of herbalism to modern botany.

I am surprised by the beauty of the color of the plant score and the detailed brushwork.
