The event will be held from Thursday, June 2 to August 27 (Sat).

Akira Nakanishi (1928-1994), the sixth generation of Nakanishi Printing Co., Ltd. in Kyoto, traveled to more than 100 countries in 25 years and collected nearly 3,000 textual materials.

By the time of death, the number of characters collected reached 95, and these materials are currently in the collection of the Nakanishi Collection at the National Museum of Ethnology.

In this exhibition, approximately 80 text materials from around the world, centered on the collection, are displayed in sections such as the Middle East and European Character Culture Area, India and Southeast Asian Character Culture Area, and the Kanji Cultural Area (East Asia).

I am surprised that the preservation of the materials is very good, and that the characters of the materials are handwritten, are too orderly and artistic.

The texts are also diverse, such as bamboo cans, palm leaves, bark, cloth, paper, and clay plates.
