Ginza Sony Building Rebuilding

A big project was announced in the area of Sukiyabashi intersection, which just opened in March this year, Tokyu Plaza Ginza.

The Ginza Sony Building facing the Sukiyabashi intersection is said to be demolished and renewed.

The business plan "Ginza Sony Park Project" has been announced.

The current building will be closed at the end of March next year, and the site will be used as an event space "Ginza Sony Park" from 2018 to 20 years, and a new building will be opened in the fall of 2022.

Sony Showroom, Sony Store Ginza, and Sony Imaging Gallery Ginza in the same building will be relocated to the newly constructed Ginza Place (GINZA PLACE) building (opening September 24 this year) at the Ginza 4-chome intersection.

The Ginza 6-chome Project is currently underway in two blocks, including the site of the Matsuzakaya Ginza Store, facing the Chuo-dori line of the "Ginza Place" (pictured below, red arrow).

This is a redevelopment project that integrates Ginza 6-chome 10th and 11th, and consists of commercial facilities, large-scale offices, cultural and exchange facilities, etc., and once completed, it will become the largest large-scale complex in the Ginza area You.

The building is scheduled to be completed at the end of January 2017, and the Kanze Noh Theater, a commercial facility and cultural exchange facility, is scheduled to open in the spring of 2017.

Nihonbashi has changed, Kyobashi has changed, and Ginza has changed.

The speed of change in Chuo-ku is really amazing.
