Monument to commemorate the arrival of the Salvation Army

Until now, I thought it was a flower bed even if I passed the side, and I didn't notice it at all.

Immediately after crossing Tsukijibashi from the Chuo-ku government office side, there was a monument of "Salvation Army Visit Memorial Land" facing Heisei-dori.

It is opposite Kyobashi Tax Office (map below, red).

The Salvation Army is an independent group of Christianity Protestants founded in the U.K. in 1878.

Known for evangelism and social work under a unique military organization, at the end of the year, men and women wearing military uniforms blowing trumpets and collecting donations to "social pots".

Should I say that it is more emphasized as a feature of the end of the year in TV dramas rather than saying "I will be remembered", and that it is remembered?

In Japan, Colonel Wright came to Japan in 1895 to establish the Japan Salvation Army.

It is said that Colonel Wright and his party established Japan's first headquarters in this area and started the Salvation Army activities.

This monument was set up in 1995 to commemorate the centennial of the founding of the Salvation Army in Japan.
