The St. Ludokh International Hospital in Akashicho was opened in 1902 by Dr. Rudolf Toysler, who came to Japan in 1900 as a U.S. missionary doctor. Dr. Rudolf Toysler was appointed the first director of the hospital.
There is a Toysler Memorial Hall and a memorial monument for the founder on the premises of St. Luke's International College of Nursing, so many people know it.
There is also a monument to the founder in the hospital of St. Luke's International Hospital.
Nearby there is a panel that explains the history in detail.
From 1900 to 1936
From 1945 to 1957
And the history from 1964 to recent years is introduced.
Transformation into modern hospitals and construction of new hospitals. And in 1995, that sarin incident occurred.
I am proud of a splendid hospital that contributes not only to the international hospital but also to the medical care of local people.
