-Excellent Techniques - Crafts Exhibition in the Meiji Period

[Marsha Horiuchi of Edo] August 18, 2016 09:00

On the 6th floor of the Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi Main Store, "Extreme Techniques-Meiji Crafts Exhibition" is being held.

Japan's unique art that was nurtured during the peaceful Edo period before the Meiji era.
We have received praise from all over the world.

Ukiyo-e, ceramics, etc. of japonism in Europe and France, will come to mind.
Here, metal crafts are on display until August 22 (free).

The elaborate birds, dragons, etc. are on the lid of the incense burner.

It is a spatial art that appeals to human sensitivity.

Make people think that the same thing can not be created even after today.

I think it's one of the greatness of Japaneseness that we haven't noticed before.
