Ginza Retro Gallery MUSEE (Muse)

Just a short distance from Kyobashi Plaza, where the Chuo-ku Tourism Association office is located, there is "Ginza Retro Gallery MUSEE" in the corner area along Showa-dori.

 

While strolling, the mysteriously attracted the building has a truly Showa retro appearance with beautiful vintage brick-style tiles.

Rikihiro Kawasaki, the representative of the gallery, and Keiko Koga, curator and art history book translator, were able to hear the story immediately.

This building is a 85-year-old building that was completed in 1931 and 1931, and is a rare modern building that remains in Ginza.

In the gallery, special exhibitions are held from time to time, consisting of one hour, two cityscapes, and three art that reflect contemporary world, in order to stir the thinking power of what you see.

 

Until Sunday, September 25, the gallery is holding "1920-30, which can be glimpsed with old photographs in the age of Art Deco". 26 photographs taken by Berennis Abbott, a leading female photographer in the United States, have been selected and explained by Koga. The streets of New York are revived in this building space built at the same time.

There are only a few buildings in the early Showa era that remain in Ginza, such as Okuno Building, Yonei Building, Suzuki Building, and Wako.

 

Mr. Kawasaki, who is from a construction company in Oita and is familiar with architecture, was acquired four years ago, and decided to change from dismantling and preserve it. And the launch of a planning gallery for the future can be said to have gained a greater asset than the cityscape for the central residents.
