Hello, this is Minori
.
You can see the Tsukiji market from Kachidokibashi.
Kachidokibashi is built from Tsukiji 6-chome to Kachidoki 1-chome.
Take Harumi-dori St. toward Kachidoki Station on the Toei Oedo Line
and go to Kachidoki Station.
At Tsukishima Daini Children's Park
(Katsudoki 1-9-8) between Kachidoki Station and Tsukishima Daini Elementary School, "marche of the Sun"
is held every month on the second weekends. There are rare vegetables and fruits, handmade items and specialty products at the storefront. (The event will be held from 10:00 to 17:00 scheduled for rain cancellation)
Also, when you walk across Kiyosumi-dori St. from the intersection toward Tokyo Bay
, you will find Toyoin, where the tomb of Jippensha-Ikku is located next to Niijima Bridge, and Sumiyoshi-jinja Shirine in Kachidoki 4-chome. .
(* Advance reservations are required to visit the grave of Jippensha-Ikku.)
Alternatively, go straight east from Kachidokibashi on Harumi-dori St. and cross the Asashio Canal at Reimei Bridge or the moving walkway "Triton Bridge" to reach Harumi Island Triton Square. The seasonal garden is beautiful here. In front of you, there is the morning tide canal that flows into Tokyo Bay.
In 1905, Kachidokibashi established a ship ferry port connecting Tsukiji and Tsukishima on the opposite bank by volunteers from Kyobashi Ward. The name "Watchery Pass" commemorates the fall of Port Arthur in the Russo-Japanese War. Later, as Tsukishima developed as an industrial area, traffic demand increased. Kachidokibashi was built and completed in 1940 (1904).
It is a Futaba jumping bridge with a total length of about 246m and a width of about 26m, and was called a movable bridge at Yoichi Azuma when completed. Initially, the number jumped five times a day, but the number gradually decreased due to a decrease in ship operation volume, and it has now stopped opening and closing.
At the Kachidokibashi Museum next to the Tsukiji Market Kachidoki Gate, valuable materials and related information related to the edge of the Sumida River, including Kachidokibashi, are displayed and released.
In addition, near the museum, there is a stone monument of "Kachidoki no Meshi" built in 1905 (1905). In June 2007 (2007), it was designated as a national important cultural property by evaluating "a highly technically complete structure with the largest movable branch in Japan".
