Nihonbashi Kiya-a long-established knives shop with sharp beauty -

[rosemary sea] September 14, 2016 16:00

It is rosemary sea, which covers "gifts and enjoy yourself" as a catchphrase.

DSC01337b.jpgToday, we visited Kiya Co., Ltd. and Nihonbashi Kiya Honten. Thank you for taking care of Mr. Kaneko.

Kiya was founded in 1792 (Kansei 4) and has a history of 224 years this year, and is a long-established manufacturing and sales of hardware such as blades.

The first Isuke Kato was separated from the main family's Kiya and became independent, and the current president Kinya Kato is the ninth generation.

It has been running in Nihonbashi Muromachi since its founding.

Since its opening in 2010 (Heisei 22) in COREDO Muromachi 1.

When the Edo Shogunate was opened, Kubei Hayashi, the first generation of Honke Kiya, descended to Edo from a medicinal merchant in Osaka, at the invitation of Shogun Ieyasu Tokugawa.

It is said that Osaka, Edo, and Hayashiya were divided into two, and that the kanji "forest" and "Kiya" were referred to as "Kiya".

Kiya-san, about 10 years after its opening, is also depicted in Kidai Shoran, a emakimono in the Edo period.

Well, let's introduce the product. There are many gems that I would like to introduce, but from Rosmari's best choice.

KIYA nail clipperDSC01333a.jpg

An absolute popular product released in 1987. The shape has not changed since the release.

The center is small (756 yen including tax). The right is large (1,296 yen including tax). On the left is gold (1,296 yen including tax).

The picture below it is currently three small pieces of Rosmali's house. The center is 10 years old, but it is still very sharp.

A famous culinary critic has been advocating this nail clipper in lectures, newspapers and magazines for a long time, and has proclaimed its favorite use. "Cookers are fingertips," he said. Rosmari also listened to a lecture about 10 years ago and purchased one on the spot.

The feature is that the blade part is made of steel. It is sharper than others and has a different blade holding. It is a gem with a good feeling of cutting.

Perfect as a gift. Lotsmari also give a few gifts to relatives. I'm very pleased. "Large" is good for older people.

Danjuro, a kitchen knife

DSC01331a.jpgIt has been a trademark since the Meiji and Taisho eras. It seems that a good relationship with the old Kabuki actor Danjuro Ichikawa in the same Nihonbashi area was built. You can also use the "Danjuro" mark.

The sickle-shaped kitchen knife (about 180mm blade crossing) in the center is 34,560 yen including tax. The lower petty knife, the so-called fruit knife (about 120 mm across the blade), is 21,060 yen including tax. Since it is a special steel, it has a good blade and is easy to maintain. This product is made of steel and stainless steel.

There is also "Danjuro" in judgment scissors.

The Danjuro brand is named as a good product with production capacity.

It's a hidden selling product.

Use when meat is hard to cut off on the go.

It is convenient without damaging the dishes.

To make it easy to use, the blade is short and the blade surface is jagged.

Notice 1

On the exciting tour “Long-established Course Part 1” (September 27, November 17) hosted by the Chuo-ku Tourism Association, Kiya-san is a visit destination. Unfortunately, Rosmali doesn't participate.

Notice No. 2DSC01342a.jpg

At the Fukumi Festival-Cored Autumn Festival-held from September 28 (Wed) to November 13 (Sun), Kiya will sell a nail cut set (large / small) as a planned product. The price is 2052 yen including tax. It's cute and packaged. By the way, "Fuku" of the Fukumi Festival is the meaning of the adjacent Fukutoku Shrine.
