To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the opening of the National Theater in Chiyoda-ku.
A traditional Japanese performing arts exhibition is being held at the Mitsui Memorial Museum in Nihonbashi.
The traditional performing arts are Gagaku, the world's oldest orchestra, where music and dance from the continent are said to have been combined with Japanese performing arts, and Noh (Noh and kyogen), which began around the Muromachi period and has a history of more than 600 years, Bunraku (puppet ballad drama), the birthplace of Osaka, and Kyoto kabuki, which has been loved by ordinary people since the Edo period.
A lot of masks are on display.
You will be amazed by the luxury of ukiyo-e and doll costumes of people who are respected or attracted to their coolness.
All of them are registered with UNESCO Intangible Cultural Property.
