Shuni-e (water-drawing) in Nigatsudo, Nara Todaiji Temple, which is said to be "water-drawing and water-drawing" from this day. It is said that spring will come to the ancient capital Nara after this water removal method. It is an event that Takashi Tadakazu, the younger brother of Ryoben, who is the founder of Todai-ji Temple, started in 752 in Tenpei Shoho 4 (752), and has been protected continuously. I found this sweets sold only during this period (March 1 to 15, old calendar February) at the Nara Mahoroba Hall in Nihonbashi. During the period, it is a confectionery inspired by camellia flowers that decorate the four corners of Sumitan, a confectionery that calls spring.

Now that we have entered the enlightenment of twenty-four season old calendar, in the 72nd weather, the peach start laughing. When you can see the coming of spring. How about taking a break with this candy in the past of Tenpyo?

In Nara, it seems that some different things are sold little by little depending on the confectionery shop. Please also see "Glue Koboshi" (Ryoben Tsubaki) that happened to arrive from a friend in Nara. Kabuki also has "derived from Nigatsudo Ryobensugi".
