Monument to the site of the Naval Military Dormitory and Naval Medical School

The construction of the National Cancer Center building has been completed, and you can now see the monument of the Naval Military Dormitory and Naval Medical School at Tsukiji 5-chome.

It is located on the north side of the National Cancer Center, near the Metropolitan Expressway.

Ginza Miyuki Street is due to the fact that Emperor Meiji visited the military school here from the Imperial Palace through this street.

In 1869, the Naval Training Center was established in Tsukiji as a training center for naval officers, renamed the Naval Academy in 3rd year, renamed the Naval Academy in 9th year, and moved to Etajima in Hiroshima Prefecture in 2021. After that, the school building was used as a Naval University.

The Naval Medical School was also here until it was closed.

The monument of this naval military dormitory is said to have been built in 1934.

It's the best season for going out.
