The length of the Kanda River is 510 meters

[Ken-san] May 5, 2017 16:00

1 Yanagibashi. JPG I took a picture of Yanagibashi from a slightly higher place. Yanagibashi is the bridge at the end of the Kanda River, which joins the Sumida River in early summer after spring has passed.

The water that springs out at Inokashirakoen flows 24.6 km east, and the Kanda River joins the Sumida River. In the past, "Kanda Josui" is taken. It was carefully used as a water supply in Edo.

The Kanda River is 24.6 km long, but the distance flowing to Chuo-ku is 510 m from Saemon Bridge next to Asakusabashi to the junction of the Sumida River, and 460 m long of the Kamejima River. By the way, the extension distance that the Sumida River flowing through Chuo-ku joins Tokyo Bay is 2,580m. It's quite short, isn't it?

At the back of the left is Asakusabashi. It's time to get on a houseboat to the Sumida River and Tokyo Bay.

In the Edo period, the river opening of the Sumida River began in May in the lunar calendar. Nowadays, houseboats are open regardless of the season, but the summer, which peaks in fireworks festival on the Sumida River, seems to be interesting.

The Kanda River has 140 bridges, and three bridges, Saemon Bridge, Asakusabashi, and Yanagibashi, are Chuo-ku bridges. (Because it is the world of the ward, it is also Chiyoda-ku and Taito-ku ...), the bridge manager is Saemon Bridge is Chiyoda-ku, Asakusabashi is the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, and Yanagibashi is Chuo-ku.

Although it is not a story about the Kanda River, a questionnaire survey of a company still found that the distance between "marriage and father-in-law" was 25 km, the same as the distance between the Kanda River, but in a recent survey it was 69 km. (Because one person answered 10,000 km in this questionnaire, the distance has increased considerably.) For some reason, I wanted to write 10,000km. People in Chuo-ku are very close, so it will be short.

※This year's Sumida River Fireworks Festival will be held on July 29 (Saturday), and those who book houseboats will be as soon as possible.
