As I walked along Chuo-ohashi Bridge, I wrote the bridge name at the upper side of the bridge, and found a ginkgo in Tokyo and a symbol that I had never seen before.
When I went home and examined it, I was able to confirm that this design was a "ship sailing ship"
that imitated a part of the coat of arms of Paris.
It is said that the sailing ship is a city emblem due to the fact that the captain's union manager has ruled Site Island for generations.
A bronze statue of "messenger" (written by sculptor Ossip Zadkine) installed on the upstream side of the center of the bridge seems to be watching over the coming and going ships.
It is said that this statue was given by Jack Sirak, the mayor of Paris at the time, to commemorate the friendship between the Seine in Paris and the Sumida River in Tokyo.
In addition, you can see "Piazza Paris" on the other side, and it is a place for everyone to relax.
July 14th is the Paris Festival. It is a day to celebrate the establishment of the French Republic (Fête nationale).
I pray that the people of the world will hold hands and that friendship will continue for a long time.
