Meijiza, founded in 1873, the theater with the longest history in Tokyo.

Meijiza has experienced the past five disasters and burnouts, including the Great Kanto Earthquake and the Great Tokyo Air Raid.

Meijiza is the "male of overcoming difficulties" that has been rebuilt and reconstructed each time despite many disaster.

There was also a change in the name of the seat.

After opening as Kishoza in 1873, it was renamed Hisamatsu-za and Chitose-za.

In 1896, the first Ichikawa Sadanjijo became the chair and was renamed Meijiza here.

The current building of Meijiza was built in 1993.

It is a variety of theaters with facilities that can perform from Kabuki to musicals, and it is Japan's first full-fledged theater with pure steel frame.

There is a heliport on the roof and a special radio device for contact with the fire department at the disaster prevention center on the first floor.

It is a very safe theater that can respond to any emergency disaster.

Also, as an episode, in 1896, the first Ichikawa Sadanjijo and Danjuro Ichikawa Jo celebrated the full entry for 25 days and placed soba tags in large bags and distributed them in large bags. It is said that.

Meijiza says that the history of over 140 years is the result of the support of visitors and the neighborhood of Hamacho and Ningyocho.

We interviewed Naoko Hayashi, the advertising department of Meijiza Co., Ltd.

"Meijiza is a long-established theater in downtown, and performs a variety of plays, including historical dramas and Kabuki, as well as singer performances and musicals familiar on TV.

One of the attractions of the Meijiza theater is the Makunouchi lunch box to eat during the intermission and the selection of souvenirs at the theater stand! "

・・That's why it's a fun stage and performance, I'm convinced.

The filming location of Keigo Higashino's original movie, "When the Prayer Curtains Fall," scheduled to be released on January 27 next year, was held throughout the country from June to July this year.

As with the original, Nihonbashi, Chuo-ku is the main story, so naturally there are many locations in Nihonbashi.

And, in fact, Meijiza, is one of the very important locations.

The location was on July 12th, 22nd and 25th, but we will hear a detailed story from Mr. Mita, the director of the Meijiza Production Department.

I look forward to hearing this story at a later date.
