Enjoy an elegant moment along the Kamejima River @Cawaii Bread & Coffee

[Hanes] May 9, 2018 09:00

Hello. This is a new correspondent, Hanes.
When I walked around Hatchobori at the "Tokyo Art Antique" held the other day, I walked around Hatchobori.
I was worried about the shop where I got information by accident at the landing of a certain antique shop, so I went there immediately!

The shop is Cawaii Bread & Coffee located along the Kamejima River.
Since its opening in July 2014, it has been popular with nearby workers and residents.
It's a community-based bread and coffee shop.

This time, Hatchobori's Creative Editors Unit, which operates this shop, is a creative editor's unit.
We spoke with Mr. Nakayama of Kawaii Factory Co., Ltd.

■Start of opening
Mr. Nakayama and his main job are editing and writing based in Hatchobori....
One day, I realized that there was no bakery near my office that I could go to every day.
"There must be people around me who have the same feeling!"
He seems to have decided to produce a bakery
But it's not just a bakery that's familiar to everyone in the area!

■Aiming for safe and secure bread
A number of delicious breads that jump into your eyes when you enter the store....
I can't see it in my eyes, but in fact there is a commitment.
That is to provide 100% domestic wheat bread using natural yeast (including homemade yeast).

All breads are additive-free, handmade in the store.
In the store, you can see the bread making through the glass.
It seems that topping vegetables are also organic as much as possible.

I know in advance how long the bread is baked.
It's good to go to the shop when the bread you care about is baked.

■Have an elegant moment in the reborn building
In fact, this building has been used as a small printing shop or garage.
After renovation by Ryue Nishizawa Architect & Design Office, it was reborn as this shop.

We can take out bread and coffee, so many people take it home.
This time, I would like to recommend the eat-in space in the store.
There are 6 seats in the store where the wallpaper of Arabesk, which is the original of this shop, is impressive.

There are 5 seats on the outdoor terrace where you can enjoy the view of Kameshima Bridge and Kamejima River.

In particular, the terrace seats are located along the river, making it a quiet, relatively cool, and cozy space.
It seems to be one of the best spots in Hatchobori known to those who know it.
Because of this, I also had "Spring Elbe" on the terrace seat.

"Elbe" means "vegetable" in Italian and means "vegetable".
It is a seasonal focaccia that is topped with seasonal vegetables.
Snap peas marinated with salt and olive oil are vivid.
It had a taste that made you feel spring
Also, it is nice that the dough uses nutritious whole grain flour.

People from overseas come every day (residents, working, sightseeing)
If there is a shop near your workplace that combines such a wonderful location and bread that you can eat with peace of mind, you can do it.
I want to go there every day.

The cute pink building that can be seen from Kameshima Bridge is a landmark.
When you come near you, look at the flowers blooming in and around the river.
Why don't you forget the time and relax?
