[First Excursion Series] Ako Gishi learning from wooden statues and Japanese sweets

[Hanes] May 23, 2018 09:00

Hello. This is a new correspondent, Hanes.
Do you like historical drama?
To be honest, I often shunned that Taiga drama series would be a period drama.
For the first time after studying the Chuo-ku Tourism Certification, I learned that there are three famous historical dramas in the city.
The historical drama is "Chushingura" with the theme of the defeat of Kira's house by Ako Gishi.

■Ruins of Takumi Asanouchi's residence (Akashicho 10/11 area)
It was the Edo-kami residence of the Asano family of Akaho feudal lord.

■Horibe Yasubei Takeyuki Monument (1-4 Hatchobori)
A child of Nakayama, retainer of the Mizoguchi family of the Shibata clan, Echigo country.
After his father who became a ronin died, he came out to Edo and made a name for swordsmanship.
It is said that he had a residence in Kyobashi Nagatani-cho (currently Ginza 1-chome).

■Shinroku Hazama Peace pagoda (Tsukiji Honganji)
He knew that his father and brother were joining the revenge union, and decided to participate.
On the way to the end of Kira's house and raised to Takanawa Sengakuji Temple.
There is a legend that Kaneko was tied to a carried spear and thrown into the fence of Tsukiji Honganji as his own memorial service.

However, I don't know the details of the Akaho incident, but just looking at the monuments and towers did not come out.
I don't feel like "Let's see Chushingura."...
So I decided to look at the Akaho incident from another angle.

■Follow the roots of Takumi Asanouchi Naganori
He was feudal lord, the third generation of the Akaho Domain (now part of Hyogo Prefecture), but going back, it can be seen that it was the sidestream of the Asano Family of the Hiroshima Domain.
So, I took advantage of my business trip to Hiroshima and visited Venus-in, a place related to Ako Gishi.
This temple is one of the five temples in the Hiroshima Domain and is also the Bodaiji Temple of Myo Kotobuki-in, the birthplace of Terumoto Mori.

It is also famous for its 47 wooden statues of Ako Gishi, which miraculously minimized damage.
It was said that Ako Gishi-do, which was originally enshrined, collapsed in the blast of the atomic bomb and was once moved to this temple that was once destroyed by the atomic bomb.
On the right side toward the main ancestor is Isa Yamada's work, "The Gishi from main gate."

On the left side, there is Hikoshi Iwata's "The Gishi who is defeated from the back gate" lined up.
Both are made of Kusu made in the Meiji period.

It is enshrined in the main gate and the back gates, and what kind of people are responsible for.
You can see at a glance whether you've come to the chassis.
Of course, check Yasubee Horibe (center of the front row) and Shinroku Hazama (left end of the back row) related to Chuo-ku!
I was once again surprised at the youth of Shinroku Hazama.

■How about Japanese sweets related to Takumi Asanouchi and Gishi Ako?
Even if you are not so interested in Ako Gishi, there are many people who like Japanese sweets?
I would like to recommend Shinsho-do in Minato-ku, next to you.

Before the relocation due to the road expansion work, the site of this shop was the residence of Ukyota Tamura.
It was also the land of the end of Takumi Asanouchi, who was hungry in the garden.

The signboard product of this shop is "in the middle of a stomach" devised based on the event!
During this period, when it was not sold at all, it became a hot topic in the securities industry as an apology.
Now it seems that more than 200 pieces can be sold a day.
I have gradually gained knowledge about Kira's house defeat and Ako Gishi.
I was attracted to the naming and bought it.

This overflowing bean paste, reminiscent of a stomach scene, is strangely real.
At the same time, Takumi Asanouchi has become more eager to know how he had to be cut off.
And at a later date, I bought "Gishi Yokan" with a package with different designs for the number of Yoshiko Ako.
Of course, we chose two people related to Chuo-ku.

On the side of the package, not only the arrangement at the time of entry, but also explanations of family crests, etc. are provided.
The background of the Akaho incident has become more and more concerned.

Even so, if you have a design for all the lawyers, you will want to collect it.
I once separated from the historic sites of Chuo-ku, but when I look at Ako Gishi from another angle, I can see it.
I think that even those who are not good at historical drama will be interested.
Of course, even those who already like "Chushingura" will be able to enjoy it together.
I took this opportunity to study about this incident and to visit the historic site of Chuo-ku again.
