The Eitai Bridge was swayed by the power! The main festival of Tomioka Hachimangu Shrine

[Hanes] August 16, 2018 18:00

Hello. This is a new correspondent, Hanes.
On the 12th, I went to see the main shrine festival (Ninomiya carrying of miniature shrines) at Tomioka Hachimangu Shrine (Koto-ku)!

It is said that it will pass through Chuo-ku, and wait near Eitai Bridge.
One hour before the passage, local people with cameras and tourists from overseas are crowded, and it is very busy.
As expected, along with the Sanno Festival at Hie-jinja Shrine in Akasaka and the Kanda festival of Kanda Myojin, it is one of the three major festivals in Edo.
Shortly after a track with an impressive person with a drum and a dazzling smile passed by....

Start of watering in front of Eitai Bridge (Chuo-ku)
(Photo in the lower right: I'm sorry that it's hard to understand, but it's part of the watering.
The water was rising quite high, and it was impressive even from afar! )
And "Wasshoi! "Wasshoi!" And a large number of people and portable shrine came near.

It was found that the bridge was shaking due to the power of the people involved.
Suddenly, I was able to enjoy the sense of realism and power that I thought, "Isn't I also participating in the festival?"

This festival is held every three years, with the main festival, the main shrine festival, and the shadow festival, but this year is the year of the main shrine festival.
At the main festival held in imperial procession, where Hachimangu Shrine's Ohorai is held during the Year of Children, Rabbits and Roosters.
More than 120 towns, large and small, are carried by portable shrine, of which 54 large portable shrines are formed in imperial procession.
The next event will be held in 2020! It seems to be very exciting because it is the year of the Olympic Games.

At this festival, not only the imperial procession portable shrine, but also the performance and dance of musical instruments and famous watering.
Various events will be held!

I will leave in August half a month....In Chuo-ku, many summer festivals are scheduled to be held.
The remaining heat is still severe, but let's take care of heat stroke and enjoy the rest of the summer.
