On January 13, the 64th annual “Kannaka Bathing Tournament (Kannaka Misogi)” was held at the precincts of Tepposhu Inari Shrine.
Every year on the second Sunday of New Year's Day, during the cold water bath is a traditional festival held in Shinto ritual, which prays for sound health by performing a purification ceremony to cleanse the mind and body in front of the shrine during the New Year.
After the exorcism of Miyaji Nakagawa, under the guidance of Itabashi Hikawa Shrine Miyaji Naoji Michihiko (= leader), first go out to the public road and run around the shrine, and then perform a bird boat (boat) for the preparatory exercise, etc. Soak in a large aquarium with icicicles to your chest and purify your mind and body while performing the soul. Finally, we conducted a campaign to organize bird ships again, and the cold purification ceremony was over.
This time, a total of 105 participants, 11 of them were women, and the youngest was a 9-year-old boy.
Warm amazake is served on the grounds as the gunshot music dedicated to Kagura Hall flows.
