The first performance performance of the children's Kabuki School Terakoya, who continues to practice at Kabukiza, will be held on March 10 (Matsu Course students) and 24 (Junior High School Division). This time, I interviewed you about the lesson. We will introduce the passionate rehearsal scenery for the first performance in two installments.
There are many kyogen dances that play an important role in Kabuki, such as Chimatsu and Chiyo Tsuru of "Sendai Hagi", Taro Yoshi of "Shinmori Monogatari", Miyoshi of "Shige no Iko Fare", and "Terakoya", which is also the school name. Do you know what kind of kids are playing in this role? When asked by the person in charge, he said, "Not only the relatives and room children of actors, but also students of children's Kabuki School Terakoya, those who belong to children's theater companies, and those who introduce others."
"Children's Kabuki School Terakoya" opened in 2014 and teaches from the basics about the skills necessary for Kabuki play, such as Japanese manners, kabuki's unique vocalization, behavior, and acting. Recruitment is a "Plum course" for about 10 people each for "Kakigumi" from 4 to 6 years old and "Moegigumi" from 1st to 4th graders. It's a narrow gate. Applicants can go to the "Bamboo Course" and "Pine Course" and learn in earnest in the junior high school section.
For the first time, we will introduce the forged Momotaro "Hyakumokatari" (Momomokatari) on March 10, and the children of the pine course from grades 2 to 5 will play. This is an original dance drama created for this performance in the story after Momotaro defeated the demon. The script is Kazuhisa Tobe, director / choreographer / Kanjuro Fujima, composition / Mitaro Kineya, Sakucho / Denzaemon Tanaka, etc. It is a luxurious performance.

It is so good that "Tomorrow is OK"! Of the students of the "Matsu Course", I heard the children selected after audition and was convinced. It seems that there are many performers who are already on the stage of this show. I'm looking forward to the performance.
