"Living the Meiji, Taisho era, and Showa eras" Photo Exhibition [Noevia Ginza Gallery]

Finally, the last year of the Heisei era has begun, and in May of this year, a special photo exhibition suitable for the timing of the start of the first year with a new era is being held.

Tsuneko Sasamoto and Takeyoshi Tanuma photo exhibition "Living the Meiji, Taisho era, Showa eras" is being held at the Noevia Ginza Gallery on the first floor of the Noevia Ginza Building facing Ginza 7-chome, Namiki-dori St.

The period is from Tuesday, January 15 to March 22 (Friday).

The holding time is from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm, but on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays it is until 5:00 pm

This is a photo exhibition by two photographers, Tsuneko Sasamoto is the first photo exhibition at this gallery, but Takeyoshi Tanuma has been exhibited several times so far.

Mr. Sasamoto was Japan's first female news photographer, and Mr. Tanuma was also the chairman of the Japan Photographers Association (1995-2015), both of whom have photographed many portraits of various houses that have carved the times.

Haruko Sugimura (Actress)

The reason why these two were selected this time was that both of them were photographed as witnesses of the times through cameras, and both of them were elderly and alive. It seems that they are active.

Morikazu Kumagai (painter)

The aim of this photo exhibition itself is to look back on those eras at the beginning of the last year of Heisei through portraits of 22 cultural figures from the Meiji, Taisho and Showa eras.

The subjects in the work include Shiko Munakata (plate painter), Noriko Awaya (singer), Osamu Takizawa (actor), May Ushiyama (beautician), Kunio Yanagida (folker), Sadako Sawamura (actresser), etc. Only those who have lived for a period in each field and created a period of time.
