◆ Cherry season "Higashine season"

[Sumida Fireworks] June 19, 2015 14:00

"Kachidokibashi" celebrated its 75th anniversary on June 14. An Edo bus passes through such a historic bridge. What? What about that?

s_hanabi20-1.jpgThis is the Edo bus for the advertisement of "Higashine".

s_hanabi20-2.jpg

Speaking of Higashine, "Cherry."

This year, the "Higashine Season" has come.

Higashine City, Yamagata Prefecture is a friendship city in Chuo-ku. Because it is a fruit tree kingdom, it holds a "Cherry Festival" in Chuo-ku every year in the cherry season.

At the Cherry Festival, the "Cherry Seed Flying Tournament" is the most important thing. This year's event will be held at Tsukiji Honganji and Tsukishima Nishinaka-dori. It's this weekend.

●Outline of this year

Last year, I went there, but it was already full when I arrived because I was late.

It seems that the record of seed skipping so far is 17m83cm.

About how much this distance is, the distance between baseball batteries and the distance of bowling throwing (18m chot). It's quite long.

Looking at the blog in the middle of last year's mistake, it seems that there are some tips for flying seeds.

Will the flight distance that will be updated from Chuo-ku really come out?

Can you see the splendid seed skipping scenery in the center of Miss this year?

It's interesting.

Higashine City is also an important partner for Chuo-ku, which has been actively involved in exchanges, such as selling special products at the Oedo Festival Bon Dance Festival in summer and providing snow at the Snow Festival in winter. is.

In fact, the place called Higashine is a place to remember for me. Since my parents' countryside is each neighboring town of Higashine, when I was a child, I returned to Yamagata almost every year to return home during summer vacation.

Speaking of memories, as for Higashine, there is only a memory that my grandmother took me to a delicious dumpling shop ...

When did you go? I don't remember which dumpling shop I went to. Maybe more than 35 years ago. The taste of "Zuda" I ate for the first time was shocking.

I visited such Higashine City for the first time in a long time this spring, so I will introduce it.

Higashine City is located in the center of Yamagata Prefecture, slightly east, and the Mogami River flows to the west side of the town, and is a town with nostalgic scenery surrounded by mountains.

Nevertheless, many beautiful roads have been developed recently, and it can be said that Yamagata Prefecture is still developing.

s_hanabi20-4.jpg(Photo: Scenery from early May from the summit of Omoriyama near the city center. The snow-covered mountain on the left side is "Tsukiyama".)

There is Yamagata Airport in the city, and there are flights from Haneda.

Also, from Tokyo, the expressway is connected, so you can go by car, and the Shinkansen stops at "Cherry Higashine Station".

There are more options than in the past, and it is closer to Tokyo.

When the Shinkansen enters the city, the scenery of the orchard sometimes jumps in from the train window, so I realize that Higashine City is a "fruit kingdom".

June is the season of cherry blossoms. In addition to being full of cherry hunting, the head family's seed skipping tournament is held, and even the marathon event is held.

s_hanabi20-6.jpgIn autumn, there is no shortage of fruits such as apples and La France. The juice squeezed them is also very delicious and recommended.

Another specialty in Higashine is that the “Muda district” fu (fu) between Cherry Higashine Station and Higashine Station.

This Muda area is located along the Dewa Kaido, and in the past it was a wheat cultivation area and was a beautiful place with water, so fu has been manufactured since the Edo period, which was the post town.

s_hanabi20-7.jpgEven now, there are several shops in the Muda area that manufacture and sell fu. Some shops were able to eat dishes using fu and sweets of raw fu, and sold sweets such as fu buns and rusk and karinto, so it was quite lively.

s_hanabi20-8.jpg

There is also a hot spring in Higashine. The name is "Cherry Higashine Onsen". There is also a footbath, so you can take a break.

To the edge of the hot-spring town...

s_hanabi20-9.jpg

There was a dumpling shop.

The atmosphere of the store is completely different from the memories of the past, but I was convinced that the taste was "no doubt here."

I think that Higashine City will be able to sell various products again at various future events in Chuo-ku. I don't think there are any dumplings, but maybe there are some specialty products introduced this time.

If there is a booth in Higashine City at a future event, please take a look.

◆ Fish Bank Water Shrine in Tsukiji Market

[Sumida Fireworks] June 9, 2015 14:00

Mizukami (landscape at the end of last year) in Tsukiji Market.

s_hanabi19-1.jpg

Here in Tsukiji Market, there is a place where torii and small shrine are located. By visiting here, you will be able to worship the "Mizu Shrine" main hall in the precincts of Kanda Myojin, far north.

"Mizu Shrine" is a god who has walked along with the history of the fish shore (fish market), and its beginning dates back to the beginning of Edo.

shrine hall was established in Kanda Myojin, where the Magoemon Mori clan, a fisherman who was brought from Osaka to Edo by Ieyasu Tokugawa and laid the foundation of the Nihonbashi fish shore, worshiped "Mizuhano no Mikoto".

After the Great Kanto Earthquake, the fish shore moved from Nihonbashi to the current location of Tsukiji Market in 1935, and at that time this place was the place of worship.

s_hanabi19-2.jpg

For the next 80 years, Mizu Shrine has been watching people working on the fish shore.

s_hanabi19-3.jpg

The Tsukiji area is a busy place, but this place of worship is a relatively calm place. It is always beautiful and seasonal flowers bloom, soothing your heart.

s_hanabi19-4.jpg

hydrangea is very beautiful now.

s_hanabi19-5.jpg

However, next year, the fish shore will be relocated to Toyosu New Market. In other words, it is very natural that this place of worship will also be relocated along with the fish shore.

s_hanabi19-6.jpg

The stone monument engraved with "Hagiyama" on the same site describes the origin of the fact that Tsukiji was once the land of the Japan Navy, so it will remain here in Tsukiji. ...

s_hanabi19-7.jpg

However, the "outside" of the fish market remains here in Tsukiji. Outside the back of the place of worship, the construction of the Tsuijishin Market, a facility that is scheduled to open before the market relocation, is being carried out, and the new history of Tsukiji is about to begin again.

s_hanabi19-8.jpg

As a story of such a water shrine, what is just attracting attention now is the Tsukiji Lion Festival of "Namishi Shrine" outside the venue. At this festival, a large portable shrine of Mizu Shrine is carried.

s_hanabi19-9.jpg

Originally there was a festival at Mizu Shrine, but it seems that there were only a few times that the portable shrine of Mizu Shrine was carried on a large scale only after the fish shore moved to Tsukiji, and it was the first time in 25 years to imperial procession around Tsukijimachi except for the market festival.

It is rare for the portable shrine to take charge of the water shrine, and the so-called collaboration of imperial procession with the large portable shrine. The main festival of the Tsukiji Lion Festival, which is carried by the large mikoshi of Namiki Shrine, is held once every three years, so this collaboration is said to be "first and last" or "historical moment".

In the future, it will be difficult for the portable shrine of Mizu Shrine to be carried out in Tsukiji-cho, and this time I think it has the character of Mizu Shrine's "Sayonara Tsukiji imperial procession".

"Tsukiji Lion Festival" of "Namishi Shrine".

The mikoshi travels around the town during the imperial procession Festival on Saturday, June 13th.

I hope you will see it with your eyes.
