Kanze Noh Theater Free Open Event Report & News of Summer Vacation Special Project "First Time Noh"

[Mill] August 19, 2017 09:00

Kanze Noh Theater is located on the 3rd basement floor of GINZA SIX (Ginzasix) in Ginza 6chome.

Have you been there yet?

I visited for the first time when the free public event was held on July 8th and 9th.

The moment I entered the large hall, I was just impressed by the beauty of the Noh Theater standing in front of me.

DSC_7280.JPG

This event, entitled "Let's go to Noh Theater!", The event will be held from 1:00 pm, 3:00 pm and 5:00 pm on both days, with 15 minutes each time.

It was an event that was free to enter because it was held for a short time, so tourists and those who were shopping also visited, and it was crowded with many spectators.

The content was a commentary on Noh by Noh performers and a demonstration of the dance (dancing without wearing a verse of Noh).

The photo above and below shows the place where you are dancing "Takasago".

It seems to be a very happy performance with the meaning of family harmony and fulfillment of love.

DSC_7281.JPG

In addition to the demonstration of the dance, it was the Kanze-style Noh performer Yaemon Yamashina who gave an easy-to-understand explanation with occasional humor.

It is said that "Noh is to show dignity in a relaxed atmosphere."

This is also a Noh movement that stretches back and makes you feel devout.

It was very beautiful, and it seemed to convey the high spirituality unique to Japan, which is also familiar with tea ceremony and martial arts.

And since the posture of the Noh slipper keeps the back straight, it seems that learning Noh dance will improve the posture.

Also, the pine on the Noh Theater represents God, and he visits Mr. chief priest twice a year to go to Shinto ritual.

I thought I understood why Noh theater felt like a shrine.

During the dance, there is also a description of the face (mote).

Noh masks are called "Omote" and the actor's face is called "Ura".

Turning the surface slightly upwards is the "terrace" that represents joy, and the lower is the "Kumol" that represents sadness.

The aspect that could express delicate emotions with just a little movement had a solid presence, as if it had a personality in itself.

DSC_7282.JPG

I'm coming to the audience seat to introduce the face.

It was as if a princess from the Heian period came.

DSC_7285.JPG
The last danced was a happy dance called "Hagoromo".

I was very grateful to see two dances of Kotobuki during the event.

Thank you very much

DSC_7287.JPG
It seems that such a free opening event was the first attempt, and the next time it is still undecided, but it is said that it will be held in the future when the Noh theater schedule is vacant.

In the previous work "Kirin no Tsubasa", the statue of Kirin in Nihonbashi appeared as the key to solving the mystery, but in "When the curtain of prayer descends", 12 bridges in Nihonbashi are the key to solving the mystery.

Please read the original work to find out what kind of mystery it is.

I read it, but it's a really wonderful work.

Various places in Chuo-ku will appear, so you can enjoy it very much.

I would like to visit 12 bridges again.

Ginza Retro Gallery MUSEE "When weave the Time of Kenji Nonaka Exhibition"

[Mill] May 31, 2017 12:00

The event was held at Ginza Retro Gallery MUSEE in Ginza 1-chome from May 10 to 14.

We visited "When weave the time of Kenji Nonaka exhibition".

DSC_5751.JPG

Mr. Nonaka is a dyeing designer and creator.

Founder of Hata-Ryusha, Nishijin Misobo in Kyoto.

This was the first large-scale solo exhibition.

As a culmination of yourself, it seems that you have been preparing for a few years ago.

Unfortunately, in March this year, when the venue composition and work were finished, he died suddenly.

The exhibition was held in a way that took over Mr. Nonaka's will.

DSC_5763.JPG

Even if the person's appearance is not present at the venue

From a number of beautiful works on display

Nonaka's personality, dyeing, weaving, and passion in the material seems to be transmitted.

I felt as if I was at the venue.

DSC_5761.JPG

The words of the theme of the exhibition were impressive.

The beginning is a drop of drop

 It was a murmuring,

Eventually, it will become a river.

Create the earth, pour it into the ocean, and

If you climb the sky, it will be a rain of grace.

 Return to the earth

It begins to flow as a brighter new life

In line with words that hear the sound of Smetana's "Moldau" can be heard, Nonaka's world was developed throughout the first to third floors of Ginza Retro Gallery MUSEE.

DSC_5765.JPG

The color of Nishijin weaving, which is woven with pre-dyed yarn, is said to be life.

In order to create beautiful colors, the goodness of water is important, and Mr. Nonaka's feelings for thanking the existence of the water seemed to be transmitted.

The works born from the aesthetic sense cultivated in history and tradition had a very innocent and fresh impression.

The pure and mellow happiness filled the venue, and I felt again that something really beautiful was always mellow.

DSC_5741.JPG

An exhibition that combines kimono and obi with breathtaking beauty.

The exhibition method like an installation of contemporary art was very fresh, and I enjoyed the unique color matching unique to kimono.

While focusing on traditional manufacturing, Mr. Nonaka has been boldly innovating and continuing to play an active part in challenging completely new things.

I felt as if the entire exhibition taught me that it was possible to preserve tradition and pass it on to the next generation because it was constantly challenging and changing.

DSC_5747.JPG

During the exhibition, there were also events related to traditional Japanese culture by Gensho Umewaka, a Noh performer and an important intangible cultural property holder, Takaho Sasaoka of the former Sasaoka family, and Munei Kanazawa of the tea ceremony Urasenke body.

I participated for two days and was able to hear a lot of interesting stories.

Gensho Umewaka's lecture entitled "Nohmen and Tradition" includes talks about challenges to new things, such as performances overseas and co-starring with different cultures such as ballet, and valuable Noh masks brought. I was able to ask interesting stories.

At the talk show between Takaho Sasaoka and Munei Kanazawa, we were able to have a good time at the venue for the two people who spoke genuinely about the specialty fields of flower arrangement and tea ceremony without decorating.

At a workshop held by Mr. Sasaoka to live flowers in a small coffee cup, Mr. Sasaoka was impressed with the appearance of Mr. Sasaoka, who is using flowers to snuggle up with the feelings of the flowers.

In addition, Mr. Kanazawa's point, which was held on a different day, was also very popular with everyone.

A truly luxurious event by leading Japanese culture experts.

It was a very meaningful moment to feel the attitude of facing beauty with the obedientness like the flow of water, which is similar to Mr. Nonaka's work.

DSC_5743.JPG

"Chirimen Crepe", which is said to have been named after the 11th Shogun Ienari Tokugawa, is known as the finest textile material.

Nonaka-san's Hata-ryusha brand, "Yuzuki", Nishijin's call, and fashionable denim kimono "Denimudosu" are also available at Ginza Mitsukoshi.

If you are interested, please come and visit us.

Tokyo Infiorata Week in Kyobashi

[Mill] April 10, 2017 14:00

Infiorata, which draws beautiful pictures on the ground using colorful petals.

In Chuo-ku, it is held every year at Triton Square in Harumi, so many people may know it.

The other day, I encountered a place being held in Kyobashi.

This is the square in front of Tokyo Square Garden.

DSC_4631.JPG

"Hundred Famous Edo Views" drawn by Hiroshige Utagawa, who lived in Kyobashi.

The figure of "Kyobashi Takegashi" in it was drawn wonderfully.

DSC_4637.JPG

The bamboo part uses carnation stems, and even the texture and neat arrangement are realistically expressed.

The petals spilled from the cherry blossoms in full bloom at Tokyo Square Garden are cute Aya.

Unfortunately, the weather was amazing, but many people stopped and watched it at a glance.

And in the square in front of Kyobashi Edgran, there is a picture of a mikoshi and a town fire extinguisher.

DSC_4627.JPG

A town fire extinguisher made by Echizen Ooka to protect the town of Edo from fire.

The current area in Kyobashi is said to have been the place where the second group "Segumi" was placed.

DSC_4628.JPG

Matoi is a symbol of the honor of the town fire extinguisher.

The layered Komagata's coat of "Segumi" was clearly expressed with white petals.

It is a pattern that feels the essence and pride of Edo.

This Infiorata is the work of "Tokyo Infiorata Week", which will be held for the first time this year.

It seems that it is an event to create a welcome carpet colored with petals all over Tokyo with the hands of citizens in order to entertain visitors from Japan and abroad.

Various places in Tokyo are the venue.

Tokyo Infiorata Week

The exhibition at Kyobashi is from April 8th to 12th.

Please take a look at the beautiful art of petals.

Paula Museum Annex "Tamagawa-do 200 Year Exhibition"

[Mill] June 13, 2016 12:00

DSC_7527.JPG

I was attracted to the impressive posters and visited the "Tamagawa-do 200 Year Exhibition" at the Paula Museum Annex in Ginza.

I was really looking forward to seeing what kind of exhibition it was because I entered without any prior knowledge.

DSC_7522.JPG

When you enter the exhibition room, you will see works shining like stars in the illuminated space.

I was fascinated in an instant.

Tamagawa-do is said to be a company that produces Tsuki copperware in Tsubame City, Niigata Prefecture, one of Japan's leading metalworking products.

The Tsuchiki copperware is a technique of making copper with a hammer and is designated as a Intangible Cultural Property in Niigata Prefecture.

DSC_7511.JPG

We were able to see the demonstration at the venue.

It was very interesting to see how the copper was squeezed, rolled, and shaped, rather than tapping and stretching.

The technique of this Tsuchiki copperware was handed down to Tsubame by a migratory worker in Sendai in the late Edo period, and was handed down in 1816 (Culture 13) by Tamagawa Kakubei, the founder of Tamagawa-do.

DSC_7512.JPG

In this exhibition, you can see the works of seven people who have been connecting for 200 years, from the first generation, Kakubei Tamagawa, to the current seventh generation, Motoyuki Tamagawa.

The work is installed on an oiled table, so the mirror reflection is beautiful, and it is an impressive exhibition with a moist texture.

DSC_7516.JPG

Tamagawa-do has exhibited and won about 30 overseas expositions before the war, including the Vienna World Exposition in 1873.

It is a number of beautiful and stunning works that convey the scent of the good old days and the pride of Japan.

DSC_7521.JPG

The small cosmos of beauty that continues to carve a tranquil time for more than generations.

Please go out to the exhibition of the memorable year of 200 years.

"Tamagawa-do 200 Year Exhibition"

June 4 (Sat) - June 19 (Sun)

3rd floor of Paula Ginza Building 1-7-7 Ginza, Chuo-ku, Tokyo

From 11:00 to 20:00 (Entrance until 30 minutes before closing)

Please refer to the Tamagawado website for details of events such as demonstrations.

Ginza Gallery Night Party 2016 Part 2

[Mill] June 7, 2016 18:00

(The article of "Ginza Gallery Night Party 2016 Part 1")

/archive/2016/05/-2016-1.html

This is a continuation from the last time.

Kuroda Toen is located on Chuo-dori.

The light of Japanese lantern was very nice.

DSC_7083.JPG

A calm space on the third floor, decorated with Bakuzan Sakaki's books.

"-Hana-Kanshin Imai Ceramics Exhibition" was being held.

DSC_7086.JPG

DSC_7084.JPG

It was a work of a young artist in Kyoto, and the natural modeling that was elaborated in detail was very impressive.

This is a work called "Protea".

A beautiful pottery that makes you feel the vitality of flowers native to Africa.

It was in harmony with the Japanese space

This is for galley.

DSC_7089.JPG

The "Pole Aisbil Memorial Exhibition", which passed away in January this year, was being held.

It is said that Aisville's work was introduced since the opening of the corridor in 1969, and it was an exhibition covering the early days and later years.

There were many works with impressive bright colors of Southern Europe.

Shibunkaku Ginza has an atmosphere with the appearance of the entrance.

DSC_7091.JPG

"Conrad Yong Godley Exhibition" was being held

DSC_7094.JPG
DSC_7095.JPG

The works of mountains and waterfalls are expressed by the brush eyes of paint.

When I saw it in a distance, it was like a picture.

At Shibunkaku Ginza, there was an exhibition room like a study at the end of the spiral stairs leading from the entrance, and the exhibition using the space was very wonderful.

I visited Nichido Gallery last time.

DSC_7098.JPG

The stone statues on both sides of the entrance were very mysterious at night.

DSC_7099.JPG

The 53rd Sun Exhibition was held.

The works of old and new artists were gathered together and exhibited, and it was very impressive.

Many works by landlords such as Ryuzaburo Umehara, Kazumasa Nakagawa, and Junkichi Mukai were also exhibited.

I was very happy to be able to see it even closer than the museum.

And here we reached the end time of 21:00.

DSC_7097.JPG

This time, I went around 12 galleries with three hours of participation.

The original holding time is 4 hours, but if you want to go around all 24 galleries, it will be quite a rush.

The gorgeous Ginza on early summer night is also very beautiful, and it was a "art gallery night party" that you can enjoy while traveling.

If you are interested, please join us next year.
