NEW ART LAB "Yasuhiko Tsuchida Venicen Glass Exhibition Invited by the scent of cacao"

[Mill] January 21, 2016 14:00

An exhibition by Venice glass artist Yasuhiko Tsuchida is being held at NEW ART LAB (New Art Lab), a gallery in Ginza 1-chome.

Mr. Tsuchida appeared with patissier Susumu Koyama on NHK's program called "SWITCH Interview Masters" broadcast the other day.
I guess there are many people who have seen it.

The content was very interesting, such as the production on Murano Island in Venice and the collaboration of Koyama's chocolate-imagined work.

The "Cakao Collection" introduced in the program is also on display.
Even though it is glass, it has a delicious texture that seems to drift up to the scent of chocolate.

You can also see the first collection of jewelry this time.
Venetian glass colored with gorgeous red that makes you feel vitality.
The jewelry named "La Vie En Rose" was all very beautiful.

Until January 23, Mr. Yasuhiko Tsuchida is also in the hall.
Please take a look at the beautiful glass works that feel passionate about.

To the Sea of Stars in Ginza Sony Sound Planetarium

[Mill] January 12, 2016 16:00

We visited the sound planetarium, an event where you can enjoy music and planetariums held at the Sony Building at the Sukiyabashi intersection.
This is the third most popular event this time.

1. JPG

The planetarium projector MEGASTAR-II (megastar two), which can project stars that are not normally visible to the naked eye, plays a beautiful starry sky according to the high-resolution sound source (high-resolution) with a larger amount of sound information than CD. You.

The video and graphic art projected on the projector are also beautiful and very enjoyable.

I was very impressed by the previous sound planetarium, so I was really looking forward to it again this year.

This time, the floor of the OPUS on the 8th floor of the Sony Building, which will be the venue, is affixed with mirror reflection materials.
Like Uyuni salt lake, stars and scenery are reflected on the floor, and you can enjoy a very beautiful sight.

In the 15-minute program, three songs will be played, but in the first half (until 1/17) and the second half (1/18-2/14), the songs will change and you can enjoy a different atmosphere.

My recommended point is the starry sky that moves in sync with music.
It seems that megastars are playing music with stars like musical instruments.
Please pay attention to the sea of stars flowing over your head.

It is also unique to this event that you can see the megastars being projected right nearby.
In the permanent planetarium, it is difficult to get near the projector.
It is a very valuable opportunity to enjoy the starry sky at the same time with the megastar that is turning around right next to it.

The model we are using this time is MEGASTAR-II Phoenix (megastar two phoenix).
It is a megastar with a bright red paint inspired by immortal birds and a beautiful rainbow-colored character.
During projection, the glittering body is also very nice, so please take a look.

Every year, weekends and holidays are often crowded, and it seems that the more crowded the exhibition is approaching the end of the exhibition.
My recommendation is after 5 p.m. on weekdays.
At that time, when I went out after watching the planetarium, the illuminations of Ginza look like stars on the ground.
It is a beautiful moment that can be enjoyed only in this place.

The sound planetarium is held from 11:00 to 19:00 every day until February 14th.
Admission is free, and a 15-minute program is screened three times a hour.
For more information, please visit the website.

In addition, on the first floor, the ultra-precision star original plate GIGAMASK (Giga mask) is unveiled for the first time.
With the joint development of Ohira Giken, led by megastar developer Takayuki Ohira, and Sony DADC Japan, the world's largest number of star projections of 1 billion can be achieved in the planetarium.
The universe that rides on the palm, expressed in the world's smallest 2/10,000mm hole.
It's very beautiful, so please take a look.

When you go to Ginza, please enjoy a trip to the sea of stars.

Meijiya Kyobashi Store, which has a history of 131 years.

[Mill] January 8, 2016 14:00

Meijiya Kyobashi Store, newly opened in September last year.

The Meijiya Building in the Italian Renaissance style, constructed in 1933, is registered in Tangible Cultural Property designated by Chuo-ku.
In the midst of modern buildings, the graceful appearance is particularly impressive.

At the time of the new renovation last year, the 130th anniversary of Meijiya's founding, the history of Meijiya was displayed in the window.
Founder Isono Kei founded Meijiya in Yokohama in 1885 (Meiji 18), utilizing his experience in commerce at U.K.
"Always the best thing,"
Under the motto, the history of working in various fields to improve Japanese food culture has been transmitted from the exhibition.

History. JPG

・For the first time in Japan, we will sell bottled beer nationwide and lay the foundation for Kirin Brewery.
・For the first time in Japan, we sell bottled sake without preservatives (Gekkeikan) and build a new distribution form of sake.
・Meiji period Starts Sales of Koiwai Butter, a fermented butter that is still less familiar to Japan
At the dawn of Japan's food distribution, Meijiya played a very important role.

The new interior of the store has low shelves, widens the passages, making it easier to see inside the store.

Old-fashioned photographs are displayed here and there, and you can feel the long history unique to Meijiya.

Speaking of its long history, the floor using this natural stone has not changed from the store before the renovation.

What a precious floor where you can't make the same thing anymore! You can also find fossils.

There are many retro items in the products that make you feel nostalgic.

It seems that this Kyobashi curry is a limited product of the Meijiya store!
It is also good for products and souvenirs unique to Chuo-ku ^^

A reprint of MY jam, which is in a can and carefully wrapped in wrapping paper.
Meijiya's MY Jam, which is still popular, was released in 1911 under the guidance of Iichiro Shiokawa, who worked on making canned strawberry jam in Kitasaku-gun, Nagano Prefecture.
It is as close as possible to the manufacturing method at the time when only strawberries and zalame sugar were cooked in a kettle, and it has a rich texture.
We can also taste the nostalgic taste of jam, which was enjoyed by high-cala people over 100 years ago.

This year marks the 131st anniversary of its founding, and the Meijiya Kyobashi store is becoming even more brilliant.

Various events are also held in the store, so be sure to check out the information before going out.
